The present invention aims to provide a device on repeating rifles, to prevent a cartridge from being removed from the magazine through the chamber, if a cartridge is already in the barrel (see patent specification no. 67231).

The device is shown in Fig. 1 in a view with a partial section on a rifle with closed Schlofs with the handle turned upwards.

Fig. 2 shows the side view of the magazine provided with the device.

The device is mounted on the rear wall of the magazine ρ (Fig. 1). It consists of the lever mm ¹ m ² , Fig. 8, which rotates around the pin m ³ (Fig. 3), the lever η H ¹ U ² , Fig. 9, movable about the pin n ³ , and the spring o , Fig. 10, 4 and 6. The latter is also attached to the rear magazine wall, with the screw o ¹ and a projection o ² , which sits in a hole o ³ , Fig. 3, the magazine wall. The lever OTJM ¹ Mi ² has a horizontal, forward-facing arm, ot * , Fig. 1 and 2; this arm Ot * carries at its front end a hook m ⁵ which engages in the magazine and which, together with the hook n * of the lever nn ^l n ^2, holds down the cartridges in the magazine (FIG. 5). The upright arm m ² is attached to a rear extension of the arm Ot *, passes through a cutout of the rifle stock and protrudes with its protruding head Ot ⁶ into a cutout of the locking sleeve b. The thumb g x ^{5 of} the chamber c enters this section when the latter is closed (Fig. 1). The arm n ^{2 of} the lever nn ^l n ² , which comes to lie parallel to and above the left magazine wall, also has on its front part, as already noted, a hook w * which engages in the magazine, which is like the hook ot ⁵ des Lever m is used to hold down the cartridges. The projections m ⁵ and κ ⁴ are not exactly opposite to allow an easier insertion of the loading frame (Fig. 1 2), as will be explained below.

This device can be used both on

in which the cartridge frame is pushed into the magazine, such as those in which only the cartridges are inserted into the magazine, are used. The operation of the device is as follows: As soon as the chamber c is closed by turning the handle α to the right, the thumb g ⁵ or some other projection of the chamber hits the head m ^{6 of} the lever mm'm ² , slides on the inner side surface of the arm m - Down and so presses the arm Ot ² and thus the arm to ⁴ with the projection m ⁵ to the right (Fig. 6 and 7), whereby the hook m ⁵ emerges from the magazine. At this moment the cartridges in the magazine are free and, under the action of the jack or spoon q , they can rise up in the magazine. From this it follows that the cartridges in the

Magazine can only rise under the action of the jack q when the stock a is turned to the right to close the rifle; In this case, however, the chamber c is completely closed, the cartridge extractor of the same holds the cartridge just pushed into the barrel, and the latter is pulled out and ejected when the chamber is pushed back again.

So two cartridges cannot be found in the case or in the barrel at the same time. In order to be able to remove the cartridge frame from the magazine when the chamber is withdrawn, it is sufficient to push the lever m to the left with your thumb, whereupon the described mechanism of the device executes the same movements as when the lever m is moved by the thumb g ^{5 of} the chamber would be pushed to the right. Since the chamber c is withdrawn here and the hooks to ⁵ n * are lifted out of the cutouts in the frame, this is, as is easy to see, thrown out of the magazine by the lifter or spoon q '. The same happens with individual cartridges inserted in the magazine (without using the loading frame). The empty cartridge frame can fall out of the magazine through an opening in the bottom of the magazine.

The cartridge frame can be designed in any way; he can z. The cutouts s and s ¹ are arranged on both sides of the frame so that it can be inserted into the magazine from either side and the cutouts s or s ¹ always come to rest in the required way for the hooks to ⁵ and ra ⁴ That means that, as well as the cartridge frame may be inserted into the magazine, the lower section of the right side is always s ¹ and is always further back than the upper s, while the section s is always lower left.

As mentioned, the hooks m ⁵ and n ^{4 are} not exactly opposite one another; they are of the same length, but the hook n * is a little further back than the hook m ⁵ . This different arrangement of the hook irr "and n * and the cutouts s and ^l has the purpose of facilitating the introduction of the frame into the magazine. For, as soon as the same is introduced into the magazine allow the walls rr ^l hooks to ⁵ n ⁴ slide on itself without letting them fall into the lower cutouts of the frame; part of the hook m ⁵ slides on the wall r to the right of the incision s ¹ , Figs. 11 and 12, while part of the hook rc ⁴ slides over the wall r ¹ slides to the left of the incision s (Fig. 11).

As soon as the cartridge frame is pushed down sufficiently far into the magazine, the hooks to ⁵ and w ⁴ snap into the upper cutouts ss ¹ under the action of the spring 0 .

Patent claims: i.
