This object is achieved according to the invention in that pairs of cohesive side walls of the same size are provided, with openings being punched out in superimposed rows on two opposite side walls and the openings alternately having a small diameter for the bottle neck and a larger diameter for the bottle diameter.

An advantageous embodiment consists in that reinforcing plates are attached to the side walls with the openings.

According to a further proposal of the invention, the procedure is such that carrying handles are arranged on the other side walls.

The embodiment according to the invention of such an insert has the advantage that a number of bottles can be arranged horizontally in the insert with the best possible utilization of the space, which bottles do not touch each other. Such a use is extremely advantageous in particular for sales and for the consumer for storage and safekeeping. It is also interesting that the insert is transported to the place of use in a flat form, i.e. in a space-saving manner, and can also be stored in a space-saving manner until it is used.
