Description
Procedure. for preparing acid tar You have acid tar with a Sulfuric acid concentration from 5o to 6o ° B6 after pressing of carbonic acid heated to a pressure of 10 atmospheres. After heating for 2 hours, the mixture became permeable blown off the carbonic acid pressure and separated the sulfuric acid from the residue. Through this heat treatment and blowing off under high pressure and at high temperature the asphalt was destroyed to a coke-like hard mass.
In contrast, the present invention relates to a method for processing acid tar by heating under pressure, which is characterized in that the undiluted acid tar is heated to about 16o to 18o °, then the pressure is increased to 10 to 25 atmospheres and below by pressing air This condition holds for about 2 hours, after which the mass is cooled to about 70 ° by using a coolant, then depressurized and the residue obtained, after separation of the sulfuric acid, is treated with superheated steam at 15 ° to 200 °. EXAMPLE 18.0 kg of an acid resin from the petroleum refinery are heated in a closed autoclave with vigorous stirring to 160 ° over the course of about one hour, during which the pressure rises to 3.5 atmospheres. Air is now forced into the autoclave until the pressure has risen to 16 "atm. The mass is left to stand under pressure in the closed autoclave for about 2 hours. The contents of the autoclave are then cooled to about 70 ° using cooling water and the pressure is released and let the sulfuric acid run off, which is obtained in an amount of 8.0 kg and a concentration of 5% Be. The remaining asphalt is now distilled with superheated steam at 150 to 200 °. It is from 9.5 kg of the intermediate product obtained after distillation 9.2 kg of a black, plastic bitumen with a softening point of ¢ 2 °, which is practically free of sulfuric acid, which is ideal for road construction and which can replace natural asphalt.
