Description

Process for dyeing animal fibers with IV metal complex compounds of organic acidic dyes The subject of patent 604,404 is a process for dyeing animal fibers with metal complex compounds of organic acids Dyes, consisting in that dyeing with these dyes in normal acidic, baths that are common for common acidic dyes, i.e. with a much lower amount of sulfuric acid than previously carried out, in the presence of water-soluble protective colloids, such as glue, water-soluble protein compounds or their breakdown products, Starch, dextrin, sugar derivatives or sulphite cellulose liquors. By reducing the amounts of acid and the addition of protective colloids result in better utilization of the dye baths and a good uniformity of the dyeings is achieved. Simultaneously the others are also caused by the earlier use of the high amounts of acid Disadvantages, such as damage to the apparatus due to corrosion, etc., avoided.

Die Herstellung derartiger Verbindungen ist beispielsweise Gegenstand des Patents 6o5 973.It has now been found that, the effects mentioned in the dyeing of animal fibers with Metallkomplexverbindun- i gen of organic acid dyes in at least equally good extent, achieved if the acidic sulfuric acid-containing dyebaths synthetically obtained body added with protective colloid properties, such as they are obtained, for example, if one or more organic compounds containing one or more oxy, carboxy or amino groups, polyglycol ether radicals with four or more -C @ H, - groups, z. B. the polyglycol ether residue - (O # CH2-CH2) x0-CH2 # CH2 # OH, introduces and converts any remaining hydroxyl groups with reactive compounds. The production of such connections is the subject of patent 6o5 973, for example.

Even when using these compounds, an increase in the advantages achieved can still be achieved if the dyebaths are salts of hydrohalic acid or similar acids, such as. B. Rhodanate, adds. You can do it Dyeing with the addition of the organic compounds mentioned with protective colloid properties is carried out in the presence of sulfuric acid alone or of sulfuric acid together with an organic acid or of organic acids alone. Example i Wool is dyed as follows: A dyebath is prepared containing 6% of the dye described in example: 2 of patent specification 441 867, 4% sulfuric acid 96% and 2 to 3 0% of a reaction product of ethylene oxide and dodecyl alcohol, obtainable, for example, according to example e of patent 6o5 973. After introducing the goods, it is brought to a boil within 1/2 hour and cooked for a further 1 to 11/2 hours. Example A dyebath is prepared containing 4% of a complex chromium compound of the azo dye from diazotized nitro-i-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and ß-naphthol, 40% sulfuric acid 96% and about 2% of a polyoxyethyl ether of sorbitol tetrapalm fatty acid ester, obtainable by introducing ethylene oxide at about i40 to i60 ° C and in the presence of 0.50% sodium hydroxide solution at 40 ° B8 in a melt of the sorbitol tetrapalm fatty acid ester until about 70 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of the ester are added.

You start dyeing at 40 ° C, bring to the boil within 1/2 hour and continue cooking for about an hour. Example e The dyebath is charged with 61 / "of the dye used in Example i, 4% sulfuric acid 96%, 2 to 3" /, a condensation product obtainable according to the examples of patent 605 973 and 2.5% ammonium fluoride or ammonium chloride. The dyeing of the goods is carried out as indicated in Example i. Example 3 A dyebath is prepared containing 6111 of the dye described in Example 3 of Patent 441 867 , 40% formic acid 85 percent and 2 to 301 of the reaction product of ethylene oxide and dodecyl alcohol mentioned in Example i. Wool is dyed from this bath with or without the addition of ammonium fluorides and ammonium chlorides.

Example 4 Wool is dyed in a bath composed as follows is: 6% of the dye described in Example 2 of patent specification 441 867, 4 0% formic acid 85 percent, 2 to 3% of the reaction product of ethylene oxide and Dodecyl alcohol. Bring to the boil within 1/2 hour, dye for 1/2 hour boiling, Adds 4% sulfuric acid to 96 percent and boils for another hour.
