Solche Seifenschalen sollen leicht abnehmbar sein, da sie mit dem Behälter, an dessen Rand sie aufgehängt sind, nicht dauernd verbunden bleiben sollen. Bei Badewannen insbesondere kommen auch Seifenschalen aus Draht zur Anwendung, die über ihre ganze Ausdehnung gleiche Höhe haben. Die Seifenschale besteht demgemäß aus einer Rohrschale mit etwas aufgebogenen Stirnwänden, die nur flach sind und der Rohrschalenform bzw. dem Wulstquerschnitt der Wanne folgen. Infolgedessen ist es möglich, daß die Seifenschale auf die Wannenwulst flach herumgeklappt werden kann, so daß sich Schale und Wulst dicht aneinander anschließen und die Schale aus dem Wannenraum so weggeklappt werden kann, daß sie nicht sonderlich aufträgt. Der Wannenraum ist dann für das Einsetzen anderer Gegenstände vollständig frei.
