Die Schrägstellung der Messer bewirkt, daß auch Vertiefungen des Schälgutes mit erfaßt und z. B. kleine Augen von Kartoffeln mit ausgestochen werden, wodurch die Nacharbeit auf ein Mindestmaß herabgesetzt wird. Weiterhin werden die Früchte durch die Fliehkraft von einer Scheibe zur anderen. geleitet, und zwar wird dieser Vorgang durch die Förderleisten n weitgehend unterstützt. Um eine möglichst gleichmäßige Verteilung des Schälgutes auf den drei Scheiben zu erreichen, ist die mittlere derselben nur mit einer Förderleiste versehen. Jedenfalls wird durch die getroffene Anordnung ein stetiges Wenden des Schälgutes erzielt, so daß ein beispielsweise mit 15 kg Kartoffeln gefüllter Behälter nach etwa ro Minuten entleert werden kann. Der Fortgang des Schälvorganges läßt sich. durch das im Deckel z befindliche Sieb beobachten. Nach Beendigung desselben wird die Mantelhälfte u2 noch während des Laufes der Maschine nach vorn herausgezogen, und zwar in die in Abb. r gestrichelt angedeutete Lage, wobei ihre abgebogenen freien Enden an den Führungen w Anschlag finden; so daß ein zu weites Herausziehen nicht stattfinden kann.
