Bei vorliegender Dampfheizung für Eisenbahnwagen bedient ein einfacher Muschelschieber zwei Heizkörper und ist so angeordnet, dafs bei eingeschalteten Heizkörpern das Condensationswasser frei in den Schieberkasten zurücklaufen kann, während bei ausgeschalteten Heizkörpern das Wasser ins Freie gelangen kann.In the case of the present steam heating system for railroad cars, a simple mussel slide operates two radiators and is arranged so that the condensation water when the radiators are switched on can freely run back into the valve body, while the water can get outside when the radiators are switched off.

Wird der Schieber α in die Mittelstellung gebracht, so kommt die Oeffnung e mit dem inneren Raum des Schieberkastens in Verbindung, so dafs der aus der Hauptleitung B in den Schieberkasten an dessen tiefstem Punkt eintretende Dampf durch . den Kanal e und die sich anschliefsende Leitung nach dem einen Heizkörper strömen kann. Hierbei gelangt das Condensationswasser auf demselben Weg zurück in den Schieberkasten A und in die Hauptleitung B, aus der es mittelst selbstthätigen Ableiten entfernt wird.
