Die Linksdrehung des Schlüssels wird im allgemeinen nur nach erfolgter Belichtung des ganzen Filmes vorgenommen, also wenn die obere Spule vollkommen aufgewickelt ist und herausgenommen werden soll. Die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung ist folgende :The device works as follows:

Infolge der erwähnten Geradführung im Schlitz A₁ des Führungskörpers A wird die Filmspulenachse g geradlinig verschoben, solange sie nicht auf den Widerstand der Spule A stößt. Dies ist der Fall, wenn der Mitnehmersteg g_± der Filmschlüsselachse ,g" nicht sogleich mit dem Schlitz A₁ der Spule zusammentrifft. In diesem Falle wird die geradlinige Fortbewegung der Filmschlüsselachse g in 'eine drehende verwandelt, weil nunmehr die Reibung zwischen Mitnehmersteg g_t und der Filmspule A größer ist als diejenige zwischen dem Körper A bzw. der Feder i und dem feststehenden Filmschlüsselgehäuse b. Bei der Weiterdrehung der Handhabe e um höchstens eine halbe Umdrehung kommt der Mitnehmersteg ^₁ vor den Schlitz A₁ zu liegen, der Widerstand an der Spule hört auf und derjenige zwischen der Bremsfeder und dem Filmschlüsselgehäuse b setzt wieder ein, so daß nunmehr der Führungskörper A durch seinen Schlitz A₁ wieder die Geradführung für den Mitnehmersteg ^₁ bildet und somit eine Fortbewegung der Filmschlüsselachse g ohne Drehung derselben bewirkt, so lange, bis die Nasen ^₃ an der inneren Fläche O₁ des Filmschlüsselgehäuses b anstoßen.
