Zwecks Handhabung ist die Platte a mit einem Handgriff von genügender Länge versehen, wobei die Verbindung zwischen Platte a und Stockgriff b elastisch oder federnd sein soll, damit beim Gebrauch des Apparates keine reinen Prellschläge erzeugt werden. Vorzugsweise wird daher als Handgriff b ein Rohrstock zur Anwendung gelangen können, oder es kann zwischen Plätte a und Handgriff b eine Spirale oder Schraubenfeder eingeschaltet werden, die eine nachgiebige Verbindung schafft. Die Platte a selbst ist ebenfalls vorteilhafterweise elastisch und unstarr eingebaut. Zu diesem Zweck ist gemäß Abb. z und 2 die Bleiplatte a mit Drahteinlagen c versehen, welche gleichzeitig die Bleimasse mit dem Handgriff b verbinden. Im Innern der Platte erhält alsdann der Griffstock b zweckmäßig Einkerbungen bl, an welchen die Drähte c befestigt werden. Die Drahteinlagen verleihen der sonst starren Bleiplatte eine gewisse Elastizität und Federung, die für den Massagevorgang erforderlich ist. Die Drahteinlagen c können naturgemäß von beliebiger Form sein. Sie können auch als Gerippe ausgebildet sein, um das dann die Bleimasse teilweise herumgegossen wird. In dieser Weise können die Einlagen auch aus einem Drahtmaschennetz g gemäß Abb.3 und q. bestehen, wobei ein solches Netzwerk g beiderseitig um den mittleren Stock b herumgelegt und an demselben befestigt wird. Um eine solche Eisenplatte h, wie sie in Abb. 5 und 6 dargestellt ist, nach Möglichkeit mit einer elastischen Oberfläche zu versehen, erhält dieselbe eine mehrfache Bespannung von Drahtnetzen i und k oder wird in ähnlicher Weise ausgebildet.
