Abstract

A process imparts a texture to a constant feed of yarn as it passes along a widening nozzle under the influence of supersonic pressurised air at more than 4 bar. The channel terminates in a further widening flare of more than 10. Also claimed is a commensurate nozzle with an inlet to a widening conical channel that terminates in a further flare of between 10 and 40. Compressed air is introduced to the channel from the side at an angle of more than 50 to the longitudinal axis.
