Anderseits ist die Streckung des im Pilgerwalzwerk erzeugten Rohrkörpers im Duo-Kaliberwalzwerk bis zur praktisch zulässigen Grenze in derselben Hitze nicht möglich. Erst die Teilung des gepilgerten Hohlkörpers und ein Nachwärmen der Teilstücke ermöglichen ein Auswalzen und Strecken der Werkstücke im Duo-Kaliberwalzwerk auf dünne Wand bis zur praktisch zulässigen Grenze und um ein Vielfaches der Länge des im Pilgerwalzwerk erzeugten Werkstücks.
