Abstract

4-Alkyl-substituted thienyloxypyridines of the formula I where: R<1>, R<3 >are hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy or haloalkoxy; R<2 >is alkyl or cycloalkyl; R<4>, R<5>, R<6 >are hydrogen, halogen, cyano, alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkylthio, alkylsulfonyl or haloalkylsulfonyl; where R<2 >is not methyl if R<1 >and R<3 >are hydrogen; and their agriculturally useful salts; processes and intermediates for their preparation, and the use of these compounds or of the compositions comprising them for controlling undesirable plants are described.
