Der Apparat besteht aus zwei Theilen, dem oberen (A) und dem unteren (B), welche durch ein Scharnier f derart verbunden sind, dafs der obere Theil zurückgeschlagen werden kann. Das Rad N ruht in seinen Achsen auf den Ständern α α, die, gestützt durch die Spirale c c, sich in den Klammern b b auf- und niederbewegen können, in Abhängigkeit von der Dicke des Drahtes und der vorkommenden Knoten an den Verbindungsstellen. An dem unteren Theile des Apparates sind noch zwei Haken χ angebracht, welche es gestatten, Farbe in den Apparat zu giefsen, ohne denselben erst vom Draht abzunehmen, auch wenn der obere Theil geöffnet ist; diese Haken greifen über den Draht, so dafs der Apparat in aufgeklapptem Zustande mit diesen Haken χ am Draht hängt. Als Ergänzung sind unten an dem Apparat zwei hölzerne, mit Metall beschlagene Rollen V V angebracht, welche folgendem Zwecke dienen: wenn beim Anstrich einer oberen Leitung der Apparat sich durch sein Gewicht bis zu der unter ihr befindlichen Leitung zieht, so stützt sich derselbe mit den Rollen auf diese Leitung und läuft darauf leichter vorwärts.The wheel M and the elastic rollers O O ¹ rest with their axes in the forks d and ee, which are fastened to the walls with screws by means of the spirals g and therefore have a certain amount of play; brushes P and jR and Q and Q ^{1 are also} attached in the same way. Patent claim:
