Description
Verfahren zur Konservierung des Öles'in Ölkesseln elektrischer Apparate. Ein großer Nachteil des z. B. für Öltransformatoren zur Verwendung gelangenden Mineralöles besteht bekanntlich in seiner Neigung, sich zu oxydieren und zu polymerisieren, wobei saure und stark gefärbte asphaltartige Stoffe entstehen, die zum Teil als Schlamm ausfallen. Durch alkalische Zusätze, z. B. NaOH, fest oder in alkalischer Lösung, Ca0' usw., wurde versucht, den Vorgang aufzuhalten bzw. die sauren Oxydationsprodukte vorweg zu neutralisieren und somit unschädlich zu machen: -Es zeigte sich aber, daß diese Zusätze das Öl direkt angreifen. Die Säurebildung wird allerdings unterdrückt; dafür setzt eine verstärkte Schlammbildung ein.Process for preserving oil in oil boilers in electrical equipment. A big disadvantage of z. Bei der gewöhnlichen »prismatischen« Form Na2B,0, io H20 ist die Wirksamkeit nur gering. Viel günstiger verhält sich die »oktaedrische« Form Na2B40, -i- 5 H20, wie sie aus heiß gesättigten Lösungen beim Abkühlen auskristallisiert. Wird dieses Salz dem Öl zugesetzt, derart, daß es dem letzteren eine möglichst große Oberfläche darbietet, so wird sowohl die Versätrerung wie die Dunkelfärbung und Verschlammung ganz wesentlich unterdrückt.It has now been shown that borax contains an agent which, without attacking the oil itself, largely neutralizes the acids formed and thus significantly extends the usefulness of the oil. Gemäß dem den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildenden Ölkonservierungsverfahren wird daher das Öl mit »olstaedrischem« Borax (Na2B40, -E- 5 H20) in Berührung gebracht. Die notwendige große Oberfläche wird z. B. dadurch erreicht, daß man Faserstoffe, z. B. Baumwollstoff, Filtrierpapier, Asbestgewebe, in eine heiß gesättigte wäßrige Lösung von Borax taucht, in heißer Luft scharf trocknet und im betreffenden elektrischen Apparat, dessen Öl man konservieren will, in geeigneter Weise anbringt. Bei nicht zu hohen Spannungen lassen sich z. B. die Baumwollbänder, mit denen z. B. Spulen usw. umwickelt werden, nach diesem Verfahren behandeln.
