Description
Cartridge magazine for machine weapons. The subject of the invention forms an exchangeable, sector-shaped magazine for machine goods is designed that it holds a large number of cartridges and easy to handle is, while due to its shape it does not interfere and requires little space. the essential and different from other magazines arrangement of the subject of the invention consists in the fact that the magazine, which is held narrow in the lateral direction, is forward is curved under the barrel and when attached by means of a carrying eyelet around his Center of curvature is oscillatable and to which the replenishment device is also attached is, suspended on a pin arranged below the barrel and then in the loading opening of the weapon is swung, in which it is secured in a known manner will. Then the magazine is firmly fixed on the weapon. The replacement can be done with one hand.
In the drawing, Fig. I shows a side view of part of a Machine gun with the magazine attached below the rifle stock. Fig. 2 Figure 3 is a longitudinal section illustrating the attachment of the magazine and that therein arranged cartridge advance device. Fig.3 is a cross-section along the line 3-3 in Fig. 2.
The magazine i is a sector-shaped housing which, in cross section, corresponds to the usual borrowed dimensions of the magazines for shoulder weapons and is designed in such a way that it can accommodate sixty or more rifle cartridges of the usual size. The magazine is, with its delivery end 2 facing up, swung into a groove 3 in the body of the rifle and its upper end position is determined by a stop, while it is in this position by a spring pawl q. and a locking hook 5 is held in place. The weight of the magazine i and its filling is taken up by support arms 6 and 7 which are suspended from a carrying eyelet 8. The eyelet can be slipped onto a carrying pin 9 which is fixed to the rifle and which protrudes forward from a collar io a reinforcement II of the radiator at the rear end of the barrel 12.
In this magazine there are conical cartridges in a laterally offset arrangement stored. The cartridge located at the outlet port of the magazine is loosely held by the drawn-in edge 13 of the side walls of the magazine 2, but in such a way that during the forward movement of the locking piece i q. its front End over the bead protruding from the bottom of the cartridge and slide the cartridge into place lengthways out of the magazine and into the chamber of the barrel can.
The pivot pin 1 5 passing through the suspension eyelet 8 carries the feed arm 1 6, which protrudes through a slot 17 and, through the intermediary of the folded spring 18, carries a plate ig in the magazine. The arm 16 is subject to the action of a coiled wire spring 2o and pushes the cartridges in the magazine against it. Muzzle to where the cartridges are gripped one by one by the bolt and pushed into the barrel chamber.
