Bekanntlich erfolgt die elektroosmotische Reinigung von Glyzerin in der Weise, daß das zu reinigende Glyzerin zwischen Diaphragmen der Einwirkung des elektrischen Gleichstromes unterworfen wird, wobei die Diaphragmen so gewählt sind, daß die beide Diaphragmen von elektronegativem oder elektropositivem Potential sind. Bei der praktischen Durchführung dieser Verfahren tritt jedoch eine Reihe von Schwierigkeiten auf. Einerseits entsteht durch kathodische bzw. anodische Wasserwanderung eine unerwünschte Verdünnung der Glyzerinfiüssigkeit. Außerdem entstehen durch Abwanderung Verluste an Glyzerin. Das schwach gelb gefärbte, elektroosmotisch gereinigte Glyzerin enthält in der Regel noch reduzierende Substanzen. Es ist ferner undurchführbar, aus der großen Zahl von Kombinationsmöglichkeiten die für den Einzelfall in Betracht kommende Diaphragmenkombination empirisch auszuwählen.
