Fish straps on which the plug-in part consists of a simple sheet metal rag that pointed at its end in the shape of a wedge to allow easy penetration into the wood, are known in several versions. However, this wedge-shaped sharpening often results in that the wood is blasted into the recess when the fish tape is driven in.

The novelty of the invention of the fish strap in question, which is fastened by barbs just like in the main patent 295090, class 68 c, consists mainly in providing the plug-in part with a firm seat and at the same time preventing the wood from exploding. In order to make this possible, the plug-in part is bent together in such a way that a 0-shaped housing is created, the upright sides of which form round, closed backs. The recess in the wood, which can be easily made possible by machine and precisely adapts to the shape of the plug-in housing, creates good bearing surfaces on the plug-in housing and thus transfers the load of the doors and windows to it, so that no bending forces can develop on the barbs and thus a permanent a tight fit of the fish strap is achieved.
The plug-in housing, which is evenly thick in its dimensions from the mandrel sleeve to the end face, eliminates any wedge effect when the fish tape is hammered in. Existing unevenness in the recess is removed by the chisel-like sharpening that is attached to the face of the plug-in housing and extends from the inside to the outside. The abrasive wood particles are taken up by the cavity of the egg plug-in housing, so that jamming of the plug-in housing when hammering in and the associated possible splitting of the wood is excluded and at the same time a tight fit of the fish tape is achieved.
