INFLATABLE MASSAGE PILLOW

The invention relates to an inflatable cushion with anti-slip protection and massaging means, which at the same time ensures relatively cool sitting.

Sitting on a soft, padded seat for a long time can make you feel uncomfortable because of the heat that accumulates. To improve the comfort of sitting, a cushion is placed on the seat. This cushion consists of pieces of relatively heat-conductive materials, such as drilled balls, flat rods or strips of stone, wood or bamboo, strung together with threads. Despite the cooler seating, these cushions do not offer sufficient comfort because of the hardness of the materials.

In order to achieve a cool and soft sitting position, water cushions (60) have been developed (Fig. 6). The disadvantage of the water cushion is that it is not sufficiently soft, as the coolant (water) is only deformable, not compressible, and the deformability in the cushion is limited by the flexibility of the wall. [In contrast, an air-filled inflatable cushion has good softness compared to the water cushion (due to the compressibility of the air). This is the case with air-filled cushions. In addition, a water cushion is very heavy due to its filling. Filling/emptying water cannot be done as easily as inflating/deflating an air-filled cushion. Therefore, emptying a water cushion to reduce its weight and volume and make it easier to transport and store is not practical. In addition, a water cushion must be disposed of after a long period of use due to the gradual loss of water. In the end, the underside of all known cushions, both water cushions and air-filled cushions, is smooth. This means that the cushion tends to fall off the seat.

It is therefore an object of the invention to create a cushion that has all the advantages of air-filled cushions and still allows cooler sitting.

It is another object of the invention to provide a cushion that can be used on the seat without slipping.

The invention is based on the fact that the upper side of the known air-filled cushions is in close and extensive contact with the body, so there is no air gap between them to improve the dissipation of heat. According to the invention, the cushion is provided with a large number of distributed, material-formed, granular warts on its upper side that protrude from the surface, which offers multi-point (i.e. "small-area") contact with the body, which enables an improvement in the heat dissipation from the interface between the body and the cushion. In addition to improving the heat dissipation, the warts have a massage effect.

To prevent slipping, the cushion according to the invention has on its underside

a large number of distributed spikes, also formed from the fabric and protruding from the surface, whereby the friction between the cushion and the seat is considerably improved.

In the first embodiment of the invention shown in Figures 1 and 2, a cushion (10) according to the invention has a top side (20), a bottom side (40) and a peripheral side (or side wall) (30). The top side (20) and the bottom side (40) each merge into the side wall (30) via a slanted shoulder (32) or (34). The top side (20) is provided with granular warts (22) distributed thereon and molded onto the material, while the bottom side (40) is provided with thorns or rods (42) distributed thereon and molded onto the material. An air injection valve (44) is provided on the bottom side (44) for inflating/deflating the cushion (10). Since the warts (22) are made of the same soft material as the wall, the comfort of the cushion in terms of its softness is not damaged. Shapes, e.g. short polygonal frustoconical. The cylindrical pins (42) can also have other shapes, e.g. polygonal prism-shaped. The cushion is also not necessarily circular. It can have any other shape that fits the seat, e.g. square or polygonal.

Each of the pins (42) can have a suitable shape at its free end to improve its anti-slip properties on the seat. Of course, the cushion can be placed on the seat surface of a seat with its upper side, which has the pins (22), facing downwards. In this case, the cushion has an even better heat dissipation and massaging effect. However, the softness is reduced.

The cushion (10) can also be placed on the floor (preferably upside down with the underside with the spikes facing upwards) to massage the soles.

The second embodiment (50) shown in Figures 3 and 4 differs from the first only in that the top (51) and the bottom (52) are not connected by a rim-shaped side wall (30). Here, the top (51) and the bottom (52) are connected to one another on their circumference, each extended radially outward, by an oblique shoulder (54) (56). In the UFO-shaped embodiment, the air injection valve (44) can be arranged at the bottom of the shoulder (56).

An inflatable cushion ( 10 ), ( 50 ) with an upper side ( 20 ), ( 51 ) and a lower side ( 40 ), ( 52 ), between which an air space (101) is defined, and with a valve ( 44 ) for blowing air into the air space ( 101 ), characterized in that the upper side ( 20 ) ( 50 ) is provided over its entire surface with granular projections ( 22 ) formed integrally thereon, while the lower side ( 20 ) ( 50 ) is provided over its entire surface with thorns ( 42 ) formed integrally thereon, distributed thereon. 2. Inflatable cushion according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper side ( 20 ) and the lower side ( 40 ) are connected to one another via a rim-shaped circumferential side ( 30 ) which has two oblique shoulders ( 32 ) ( 34 ) over which the upper and lower sides ( 20 ) ( 40 ) each merge into the circumferential side. 3. Inflatable cushion according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper side ( 51 ) and lower side ( 52 ) are connected to one another via shoulders ( 54 ) ( 53 ) which are formed by radially extending the upper and lower sides ( 51 ) ( 52 ) outwards. 4. Inflatable cushion according to claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the lobes ( 22 ) are hemispherical. 5. Inflatable cushion according to claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the mandrels ( 42 ) are cylindrical. 6. Inflatable cushion according to claim 3, 5, characterized in that the shoulders ( 54 ) ( 53 ) are each provided with bosses ( 22 ) and spikes ( 42 ) on their surface. 7. Inflatable cushion according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the valve ( 44 ) is arranged on the peripheral surface ( 38 ). 8. Inflatable cushion according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the valve ( 44 ) is arranged on the underside ( 40 ). 9.
