Er weist einen Teil-Querschnitt auf, der zu dem der Dachrinnenvorderkante kompatibel ist und danach in eine Auflagefläche übergeht, die den Dorn zum Halten des Abdeckgitters 24 trägt. Das auf der Dachrinne aufliegende Abdeckgitter 24 sorgt dafür, daß herabfallende Blätter, Zweige, Äste, aber auch Schnee weitestgehend von der Dachrinne 7 ferngehalten werden. Durch die Schneebremsleiste 27 wird vom Dach 3 herabrutschender Schnee teilweise über das Rinnenabdeckgitter 24 geleitet und vor allem so zerkleinert, daß er nicht als zusammenhängender Block herabfallen kann.
