Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung nach dem Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches 1.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, die Vorrichtung nach dem Hauptpatent so auszugestalten,
daß der Schweißbereich in seiner Länge variiert und der Banddimension und der zu erzeugenden Reibungswärme
angepaßt werden kann, die für verschiedene Bandmaterialien unterschiedlich ist
Diese Aufgabe wird gemäß der Erfindung durch die Merkmale im Kennzeichen des Patentanspruches 1
gelöst
Diese Ausgestaltung hat den Vorteil, daß das obere, bewegte Bandende beim Hin- und Herschwingen der
beweglichen Reibbacke nicht so hoch beansprucht wird wie von zwei beweglichen Backenteilen, die mit ihren
einander zugekehrten Enden gleichgerichtete Schwenkbewegungen ausführen. Da bei dem hin- und herschwingenden
Backenteil die Bewegung zur Schwenkachse hin immer kleiner wird und bis auf Null abnimmt, ist die
Reibungswärme auch bei nur einer schwenkenden Reibbacke über die Länge des Schweißbereiches
ungleich verteilt, so daß eine Schwächung des Bandes am Ende der Schweißzone nicht eintritt Da nur eine
Reibbacke vorhanden ist, kann das obere Bandende mehr oder weniger weit unter die bewegliche
Reibbacke geschoben werden. Hierdurch ist es möglich, die Länge des Schweißbereiches den Abmessungen und
den Materialeigenschaften des jeweils zu verarbeitenden Bandes und der zu fibertragenden Zugkraft
anzupassen. Zu diesem Zwecke können die Reibbacken an ihren einander zugekehrten Flächen auch in ihrer
Breite verstellbare Nuten haben. Die Breite der Nuten in den Reibbacken kann durch Keilleisten verstellbar
sein, welche einen Seitenrand der jeweiligen Nute bilden und in verschiedenen Stellungen arretierbar sind.
Zu diesem Zweck können Verzahnungen an den Seitenwänden der Nute öder Stifte im Nutgrund
angeordnet sein.

Die in ihrer Gesamtheit mit 10 bezeichnete Vorrichtung zum Verschweißen von Kunststoffbändern
besteht aus einem hier nur in strichpunktierten Linien angedeuteten Gehäuse 50, das an seinem vorderen Rand
eine feststehende Reibbacke 15 trägt Oberhalb dieser feststehenden Reibbacke 15 befindet sich die bewegliche
Reibbacke 16, die mit einem Wellenzapfen 25 im Gehäuse um eine senkrechte Achse schwenkbar
gelagert ist Die feststehende Reibbacke 15 und die bewegliche Reibbacke 16 erstrecken sich in Längsrichtung
der miteinander zu verbindenden Kunststoffbänder 17 und 18 (Fig.2 bis 4). Das untere Band 18 liegt
hierbei in einer Nute 19 der feststehenden Reibbacke 15, deren Breite B veränderbar ist und der Breite des
Umreifungsbandes angepaßt werden kann. In analoger Weise befindet sich auf der Unterseite der beweglichen
Reibbacke 16 eine Nute 22, in der das obere Bandende 17 liegt Auch diese Nute 22 ist in ihrer Breite
veränderbar. Anstelle von Nuten können die Reibbakken auch mit einer Aufrauhung, insbesondere einer
Verzahnung, versehen sein, die sich in die Bandoberfläche eindrückt so daß das obere Bandende bei der
Schwenkbewegung der beweglichen Reibbacke mitgenommen wird.
Zum Einstellen der Breite B der Nuten 19 und 22 sind Keilleisten 51 und 52 vorgesehen, die an einer konischen Seitenfläche 53 bzw. 54 der Nute 19 bzw. 22 anliegen und die an ihren Keilflächen eine Verzahnung 55 aufweisen, mit der sie in eine entsprechende Verzahnung an der keilförmigen Seitenfläche 53 bzw. 54 der

so Nuten 19 bzw. 22 eingreifen. Damit die Keilleisten 51 und 52 nicht herausfallen, können sie durch hier nicht
näher dargestellte Stifte oder Schrauben im Nutgrund befestigt sein.
Wie insbesondere aus den Fig. 1 und 3 hervorgeht,
hat die bewegliche Reibbacke 16 einen Horizontalschlitz 30, in den eine Pleuelstange 36 eingreift die in der
beweglichen Reibbacke 16 mit einem Zapfen 56 gelagert ist und an ihrem anderen Ende 57 von einem
Exzenter 37 angetrieben wird, der mit einer Antriebsachse
38 in hier nicht näher dargestellter Weise im Gehäuse 50 gelagert ist Mit einer hier nicht näher
dargestellten Druckvorrichtung 40 kann auf die bewegliche Reibbacke 16 ein Druck in Richtung des
Pfeiles Pausgeübt werden.
Die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung ist folgende:
Zunächst wird durch Längsverschieben der Keilleisten

bandenden 17 und 18 eingestellt Danach werden die Bänder 17 und 18 übereinanderliegend in die Vorrichtung
10 eingelegt und gespannt Hierbei kann das obere Bandende 17 über die Vorderkante der beweglichen
Reibbacke 16 hinausstehen, sie kann aber auch je nach der gewünschten Länge des Schweißbereiches an einer
weiter zurückliegenden Stelle enden. Hierbei liegt die bewegliche Reibbacke 16 mit ihrer ganzen Fläche auf
dem oberen Bandende auf, so daß ihre Auflagefläche auf dem Bandende 17 größer ist als der Schweißbereich, in
welchem die Bandenden an ihren aufeinanderliegenden Flächen erweicht werden und eine Materialverschmelzung
eintritt
Nach dem Einschalten des Antriebes wird die Antriebsachse 38 gedreht und der Exzenter 37 erteilt
der Pleuelstange 36 eine hin- und hergehende Bewegung. Hierdurch wird die bewegliche Reibbacke
16 um ihren Wellenzapfen 25 hin- und hergeschwenkt wobei gleichzeitig auf die Reibbacke 16 mit der
Druckvorrichtung 40 ein Druck P ausgeübt wird. Bei der hin- und hergehenden Schwenkbewegung der beweglichen
Reibbacke 16 wird das in der Nute 22 liegende obere Band 17 mitgenommen und gegenüber dem
darunterliegenden Band 18 unter Druck hin- und herbewegt. Hierdurch wird eine über die Länge des
oberen Bandendes zum Wellenzapfen 25 hin abnehmende Reibungswärme erzeugt die die einander zugewandten
Flächen der Bandenden aufschmilzt und miteinander verschweißt
In diesem Zusammenhang ist darauf hinzuweisen, daß
die Tiefe t der Nuten 19 und 22 etwas kleiner ist als die Dicke der Bandenden 17 und 18, so daß bei der hin- und
hergehenden Bewegung nur die Bandenden, nicht aber
die Reibbacken aufeinanderliegen.
Da die Auslenkung am vorderen Rand 59 der beweglichen Reibbacke 16 wesentlich größer ist als am
hinteren Rand in der Nähe des Wellenzapfens 25, ist auch die Erwärmung der aufeinanderreibenden Kunststoffbänder
17 und 18 in der Nähe des freien Endes 59 der beweglichen Reibbacke größer als in der Nähe des
Wellenzapfens 25. Hierdurch geht die Zone inniger Verschmelzung beider Bandenden allmählich in jene
Zone über, wo die Bänder ohne Verschweißung aufeinanderliegen.
Die Reibbacken können auch eine etwas andere Form haben und die bewegliche Reibbacke kann auf andere
Weise schwenkend angetrieben sein. Es ist auch möglich, die Breite der Nuten fur die zu verbindenden
Bänder mit anderen Mitteln zu verändern.

Claims (5)
1. Vorrichtung zum Verschweißen von aufeinanderliegenden
Bändern aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff durch Druck und Reibungswärme, mit feststehenden und mit beweglichen, sich in Bandlängsrichtung
erstreckenden Reibbacken, die gegeneinander drückbar sind und bei denen die beweglichen
Reibbacken um zur Schweißebene senkrechte Achsen schwenkbar sind, nach Patent 28 02 034,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß nur eine bewegliche Reibbacke (16) vorgesehen ist, welche
das eine Bandende (17) hält und mit ihm zusammen schwenkbar ist und deren Auflagefläche auf diesem
einen Bandende größer ist als der Schweißbereich.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die dem einen Bandende (17)
zugekehrte Oberfläche der beweglichen Reibbacke (16) aufgerauht, insbesondere mit einer Verzahnung
versehen ist.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die bewegliche Reibbacke (16)
das eine Bandende (17) seitlich übergreift.
4. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reibbacken (15,16)
an ihren einander zugekehrten Flächen in ihrer Breite (B) verstellbare Nuten (19 und 22) haben.
5. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche t bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Breite (B) der
Nuten (19, 22) in den Reibbacken (15, 16) durch Keilleisten (51, 52) verstellbar ist, welche einen
Seitenrand der jeweiligen Nute (19 bzw. 22) bilden und in den verschiedenen Stellungen arretierbar
sind.
