Abt., 1911, S. 110 bis in), da man nicht in der Lage war, sie bei größei-en Konzentrationen wieder aus dem Wasser zu entfernen. Das vorliegende Verfahren besteht nun in der vereinigten Anwendung beider Chemikalien, und zwar zu gleichen Teilen, zweckmäßig in Tablettenform, welche 10 Minuten auf das zu desinfizierende Wasser einwirken sollen. Die Desinfektionswirkung beruht darauf, daß Kupfersulfat neben seiner bakteriziden Eigenschaft als Kupfersulfat auch als Katalysator wirkt, indem es die Abspaltung von Sauerstoff aus dem sauerstoffreichen Kaliumpermanganat, worauf ja die Desinfektionswirkung des Kaliumpermanganats beruht, in solchem Grade steigert, daß die frei schwebenden Bakterien durch denselben in kurzer Zeit vernichtet werden. Die Entfernung der beiden Chemikalien geschieht nach Ablauf von 10 Minuten durch Wasserstoffsuperoxyd gleichfalls zweckmäßig in Tablettenform, wodurch das Kaliumpermanganat zu Braunstein und das Kupfersulfat zu dem wasserunlöslichen Kupferoxyd oxydiert.ίο Among the recommended chemical agents are also the copper sulfate and the potassium permanganate, the latter also combined with other chemicals, but not with copper sulfate.
