Die Kartoffellegmaschine ist in den Zeichnungen nicht besonders dargestellt, sondern nur das eigentliche Legrad a, an dessen Umfang scherenartige Greifer b angeordnet sind, wobei die zweite Hälfte der Greifer von dem Umfang des Legrades α selbst gebildet wird. Seitlich von diesem Legrad ist auf Rollen oder Walzen c ein Zellenband d (Hilfslegvorrichtung) angeordnet, in welches _ die Kartoffeln entweder von Hand oder selbsttätig einzeln eingelegt werden. Auf der vorderen Welle oder Walze c des Zellenbandes d sitzt ein Zahnrad β, welches zur Drehung der Welle c und dadurch zur Bewegung des Zellenbandes d dient. An den scherenartigen Greifern b ist, abgesehen von den hier nicht zu besprechenden Vorrichtungen zum Öffnen und Schließen dieser Greifer, je ein Hebelarm f vorgesehen, der annähernd senkrecht zu den Greifern b steht. Die Stellung und die Länge dieses Hebelarmes f bei jedem Greifer b ist derart bemessen, daß, wenn der Greifer eine Kartoffel ergriffen hat, also in gehobener Stellung sich befindet, der Hebelarm f an dem Zahnrade e vorübergehen kann, ohne in dasselbe einzugreifen. Um dieses zu ermöglichen, hat jeder Hebelarm noch einen seitlichen Vorsprung oder ist rechtwinklig gebogen, wie Fig. 2 andeutet. Hat dagegen ein Greifer b keine Kartoffel ergriffen, so legt er sich gegen den Umfang des Legrades a, weil er bei der z. B. hier dargestellten Ausführungsform von der Feder g angezogen wird. Hat der Greifer diese Stellung eingenommen, die in Fig. 1 unten rechts veranschaulicht ist, so steht der Hebelarm f derart, daß er in das Zahnrad β der Hilfslegvorrichtung eingreifen kann. Dadurch wird eine Drehung dieses Zahnrades und demzufolge auch der mit ihm verbundenen Welle c und schließlich des Zellenbandes d hervorgerufen, so daß eine Kartoffel aus dieser Zelle heraus durch das Legerohr h abwärts in die Furche oder das Pflanzloch fällt.Fig. Ι a Seitenansiqht of the level with the auxiliary bending device, partially in section.
