Nimmt auf dem Sitzteil 18 ein Sitzbenutzer Platz, so daß sich das Sitzteil 18 in der nach vorne geklappten Sitzposition befindet, so werden das Flächenheizelement 24 des Sitzteiles 18 und das Flächenheizelement 54 der Rückenlehne 22 automatisch aus dem Energieversorgungsnetz über die Anschlußleitung 28 mit elektrischer Energie versorgt. In the raised rest position of the seat part 18, the electrically conductive connection of the two switch contacts 62 protruding into the ampoule 58 is interrupted by means of the mercury 60 and thus the energy supply of the surface heating elements 24 and 54. The same applies to a folding chair 10 in which only the seat part 18 is provided with a surface heating element 24.
