"Fastening device for mats '

The invention relates to a device for fastening mats, in particular dirt trap mats/cleaning zones.

Such dirt-trapping mats or clean-walking zones are mainly laid out in entrance areas of public buildings, passageways, shops, industrial facilities and the like.

They are made of high-twist nylon with a pile height of approx. 8 mm and a carrier material made of polyester fiber fleece. The backing is approx. 2 mm thick, so that a total construction height of approx. 10 mm is achieved. A tread edge of approx. 20 mm wide is attached all around the pile.

Due to their fiber structure and construction, the dirt trap mats are able to scrape off and collect dirt and any moisture that may be adhering to them when walked on.

Due to the purpose and location of use, clean-walking areas are generally not constantly monitored, so that they can be taken away relatively easily and frequently by unauthorized persons. Theft is particularly common when the surface has a striking and attractive print design.

The object of the invention is therefore to prevent the theft of dirt-trapping mats, or at least to make it significantly more difficult.

This object is achieved according to the invention by a transportable frame with a metal base plate and circumferential fastening elements that at least partially overlap the edge areas of the mats.

The dirt trap mat is fixed by such a frame according to the invention, which can also be attached to the floor, for example by screwing. The design of such a frame is heavy and so conspicuous that the frame and mat can only be removed with the appropriate transport equipment and with a corresponding stir. If the frame itself is permanently attached to the floor, for example by screwing, and the screwing elements are not accessible when the dirt trap mat is in the installed position, the frame with the mat inserted cannot be removed at all.

It is advantageous to use clamping plates as fastening elements.

These can be mitred so that they completely enclose the metal base plate. Both the base plate and the crush plates can be made of checkered plate or aluminum and are connected to each other with a sufficient number of locking screws. The crush plates overlap the non-pile step edge of the clean-off zone with specially shaped end pieces, which allows the mats to be fixed in place without causing any damage.

The crush plates are advantageously bevelled on the outer edge to ensure that the fastening device is flush with the floor and to prevent the risk of tripping when walking on them. In addition, the circumferential rubber lips prevent rain or cleaning water from running under the frame and the clean-off zone.

To prevent unauthorized opening of the security frame, fastening devices with a special screw head are provided that can only be installed with a special adapter. These can be Allen screws, for example, but also other special screw heads that are flush with the surface of the crush plates.

A fastening device for dirt trap mats 2, generally designated 1, has a base plate 3 and crush plates 4, which, with specially shaped end pieces 5, overlap the pile-free step edge 6 of the dirt trap mat 2. Outside the step edge 6, the dirt trap mat 2 has a pile 7 made of high-twist nylon.

The crush plate 4 has a bevel 8 on the outer edge and a rubber lip 9 below the edge area of the bevel 8 and can be fixed to the base plate 3 with fastening means 10.

The fastening means 10, for example fastening screws, expediently have a special screw head 11, which can only be set with a special fitting piece in order to prevent unscrewing by unauthorized persons. The rubber lip 9 serves to close the crush plate 4 flush with the floor and to prevent water from running under the entire fastening device 1 and tripping when walking on it.

Due to a special shape of the end pieces 5, in particular rounded corners 12, damage to the step edge 6 of the dirt trap mat 2, which is overlapped by the end piece 5, is prevented. At the same time, the possible arrangement of several end pieces 5a, 5b ensures a particularly secure hold and a firm crushing of the step edge 6 under the crush plate 4. The fastening means 10 are spaced apart from one another in such a way that a secure hold of the crush plates 4 on the base plate 3 is ensured, so that the crush plates 4 rest firmly all the way on the step edges 6 of the dirt trap mat 2 and fix them to the base plate 3.

The head pieces 11 of the fastening means 10 are designed such that they are flush with the upper edge of the crush plates 4.

Further embodiments of the invention are possible without departing from the basic idea. It is only important that dirt trap mats or clean-walking zones are reliably fixed at the place of use in order to prevent unauthorized removal by unauthorized persons, in particular theft. At the same time, it must be ensured that the dirt trap mats can be easily removed and replaced for cleaning purposes.

Claims (8)

1. Device for fastening mats and the like, in particular dirt-trapping mats/cleaning zones, characterized in that a transportable frame ( 1 ) with a metal base plate ( 3 ) and circumferential fastening elements ( 5 ) which at least partially overlap the edge regions ( 6 ) of the mats ( 2 ) is provided. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that crush plates ( 5 ) are provided as fastening elements ( 5 ). 3. Device according to claim 1, 2, characterized in that the frame ( 1 ) and/or the crushing plates ( 5 ) are made of checkered plate. 4. Device according to claim 1, 2, characterized in that the frame ( 1 ) and/or the crushing plates ( 5 ) are made of aluminum. 5. Device according to claim 1, 2 and/or at least one of the following, characterized in that the crushing plates ( 5 ) have shaped end pieces ( 5a , 5b ) for damage-free fastening of the edge regions ( 6 ) of the mats ( 2 ) to the base plate ( 3 ). 6. Device according to claim 1, 2 and/or at least one of the following, characterized in that the crushing plates ( 5 ) have bevels ( 8 ) on the outer edge for connecting the frame ( 1 ) flush with the floor. 7. Device according to claim 1, 2 and/or at least one of the following, characterized in that the crushing plates ( 5 ) have a rubber lip ( 9 ) on the outer edge. 8. Device according to claim 1, 2 and/or at least one of the following, characterized in that fastening means ( 10 ) are provided for the detachable connection of the fastening elements ( 5 ) to the base plate ( 3 ) with a special screw head ( 11 ) which can only be set with a fitting piece.
