Description
Die Erfindung betrifft Sandwichplatten aus einer
Polypropylenschaum-Kernschicht und Deckschichten
aus glasmattenverstärktem Polypropylen.
Für viele Anwendungszwecke besteht Bedarf an
Leichtbauteilen, die neben einem geringen Gewicht und
einem niedrigen Preis eine sehr gute Festigkeit und Stei
figkeit aufweisen und außerdem einfach recyclierbar
sein sollen.
Diese Anforderungen werden von den erfindungsge
mäßen Sandwichplatten erfüllt. Sie bestehen aus
- A) einer Kernschicht aus Polypropylen-Partikel schaum einer Dichte von 0,02 bis 0,10 g.cm3 und
- B) zwei Deckschichten aus glasmattenverstärktem Polypropylen mit einem Fasergehalt von 20 bis 60 Gew.-%.
Die erfindungsgemäße Kernschicht A besteht aus ei
nem Partikelschaumstoff auf Basis eines Homo- oder
Copolymeren des Propylens. Vorzugsweise werden
Propylencopolymere verwendet mit einem Schmelz
punkt zwischen 125 und 155°C, vorzugsweise zwischen
130 und 150°C. Als Schmelzpunkt gilt dabei das nach
der DSC-Methode bestimmte Maximum beim zweiten
Aufschmelzen einer Probe (Kristallitschmelzpunkt). Co
polymerisate des Propylens mit 1 bis 30 Gew.-%, insbe
sondere 1 bis 6 Gew.-% Ethylen und/oder eines C4- bis
C6-α-Olefins sind besonders gut geeignet.
Der Schaumstoff ist ein sogenannter Partikelschaum
stoff, wie er durch Verschweißen von Schaumstoffparti
keln üblicherweise mit einem mittleren Durchmesser
von 2 bis 8 mm, vorzugsweise 3 bis 6 mm, erhältlich ist.
Die Dichte des Schaumstoffs liegt zwischen 0,02 und
0,10 g/cm3, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,03 und 0,08 g/cm3.
Die Dicke der Kernschicht beträgt vorzugsweise 5 bis
100, insbesondere 15 bis 40 mm.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Deckschichten B bestehen
aus glasmattenverstärktem Polypropylen. Dieses ent
hält 20 bis 60, vorzugsweise 30 bis 45 Gew.-% Glasfa
sern, vorzugsweise in Form von Matten. Die Matten
bewirken die hohe Festigkeit des Materials. Die Länge
der Glasfasern kann in weiten Grenzen zwischen etwa
2 mm und unendlich schwanken. Bevorzugt sind Matten,
die aus geschnittenen Glasfaserrovings einer Länge von
5 bis 25 mm bestehen, und die durch Nadeln verfestigt
wurden. Bei der Nadelung werden einige Glasfasern
zerschlagen, so daß die genadelte Matte auch Anteile
von kürzeren Fasern aufweist.
Das Flächengewicht der Glasfasermatten beträgt
vorzugsweise 200 bis 1200 gm-2. Die Deckschichten
sind vorzugsweise 1 bis 10, insbesondere 2 bis 5 mm
dick.
Die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Sandwich
platten geschieht zweckmäßigerweise durch Verpres
sen von auf Temperaturen von etwa 210°C vorerhitzten
Deckschichten mit der Kernschicht. Grundsätzlich kön
nen die Schichten aber auch miteinander verklebt wer
den.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Schichtstoffe können z. B. als
Schalelemente in der Bauindustrie oder als Automobil
teile, z. B. Ladeboden, Wärmedämmelemente oder
schallabsorbierende Strukturbauteile verwendet wer
den.
Claims (2)
1. Sandwichplatten, bestehend aus
- A) einer Kernschicht aus Polypropylen-Parti kelschaum mit einer Dichte von 0,02 bis 0,10 g.cm3 und
- B) zwei Deckschichten aus glasmattenver stärktem Polypropylen mit einem Fasergehalt von 20 bis 60 Gew.-%.
2. Sandwichplatten nach Anspruch 1, dadurch ge
kennzeichnet, daß die Kernschicht A 5 bis 100 mm
dick ist und die Deckschichten 1 bis 10 mm dick
sind.
