Das in Fig. 1 im Längenschnitt, in Fig. 2 im Querschnitt und in Fig. 3 in der Ansicht dargestellte Druckreducirventil dient zum Reduciren von Dampf oder gespannten Gasen. Der bei a eintretende Dampf drückt auf die Metallplatte b, welche, durch den Hebel c mit dem Ventil d in Verbindung gesetzt, dieses Ventil öffnet. Dann strömt so lange Dampf durch dasselbe, bis der gewünschte reducirte Druck erreicht ist. Der Druck beginnt nun auf der entgegengesetzten Seite auf die Platte b einzuwirken, und hierdurch wird das Ventil wieder geschlossen. Dieses Oeffnen und Schliefsen dauert fort, so lange das Ventil im Betriebe steht.
