Den Gegenstand der Erfindung bildet eine Maschine zur Herstellung von Holznägeln. Die neue Maschine unterscheidet sich dadurch von bekannten, demselben Zweck dienenden Maschinen, daß sowohl das Spaltmesser als auch das Werkstückauflager durch Verbindung mit einem Handhebel zwangläufig gegeneinander bewegt werden, während bei dem Bekannten gewöhnlich das Werkstückauflager festliegt. Durch die neue Anordnung soll das Spalten erleichtert werden. Ferner ist bei der neuen Maschine an der Verlängerung des hin- und herbeweglichen Werkstückauflagers ein Vorspaltmesser angeordnet, mit welchem von einem größeren Holzblock dünne Platten abgespalten werden können.The subject of the invention is a machine for the production of wooden nails. Mittels der Gelenkstange d ist der Träger i des Spaltmessers mit dem anderen Arm des Doppelhebels b gelenkig verbunden. Der Messerträger i wird auf der Druckstange f geradlinig geführt. An letzterer ist noch ein Vorspaltmesser g angeordnet, welches mit einem an der Schiene a angebrachten Werkstückauflager k zusammenwirkt. Die Wirkungsweise der Vorrichtung ist folgende. Von einem auf bestimmte Länge geschnittenen kantigen Holzblock wird durch das Vorspaltmesser eine dünne Platte m abgesprengt. Diese Platte legt man mit der einen Schmalseite in die Nut e der Druckstange/ und auf die Schneide des Messers h.
