KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
In the patent specification 165278 a process is described, according to which from sodium superoxide, Boric acid and a zinc salt can represent zinc perborate. It is also with further study of this area succeeded in producing hyperboric acid salts of magnesium in an analogous manner. The reaction between sodium peroxide, boric acid and a magnesium salt can be varied in the same way as in the above mentioned patent is indicated, with the proviso, of course, that the zinc salt replaced by a magnesium salt.
Auf folgende Art kann man in besonders vorteilhafter Weise zu Magnesiumperboraten gelangen:Magnesium perborates can be obtained in a particularly advantageous manner in the following manner reach:
Then left with thorough stirring and further cooling the aqueous solution of a molecule of a magnesium salt, e.g. B. Magnesium chloride, to be added. Finally, add 1 molecule of boric acid in very high fine distribution into it. The mixture is stirred for a while and then separated by filtration the formed magnesium perborate from the liquid. The perborate is now dried at not high temperature, while the liquid is used to approach another Operation used by going into a part
derselben Natriumsuperoxyd einträgt, in einem anderen das Magnesiumsalz wieder auflöst.the same one enters sodium peroxide, in another one dissolves the magnesium salt again.
Folgendes Beispiel möge das Verfahren erläutern :The following example may explain the procedure:
With continued vigorous stirring, a solution of 2 kg of magnesium chloride (MgCl 2 - 6 H 2 O) in about 4 liters of water is slowly added in order to finally introduce 850 g of B (OH) z in a finely divided state. Corresponding to the excess alkali, about 70 cc of hydrochloric acid (1.12 specific weight) are added at the same time as the chloromagnesium solution. After stirring for about half an hour, the magnesium perborate precipitate is filtered off with suction and the filtrate is used for another operation.
Dammer,The previously unknown magnesium perborate is a white amorphous precipitate and, apart from its active oxygen content, is essentially the same Properties of the magnesium borate described in the literature. When treated with water for a long time, acidic magnesium perborate is released in solution, leaving behind basic magnesium perborate, so that one more by treating with water alone or less basic, d. H. an alternating amount of boric acid and active oxygen containing product is obtained (cf. Dammer,
Handbuch der artorg. Chemie, Bd. ΠΙ, S. j6 und Bd. IV, S. 668).Artorg manual. Chemie, Vol. ΠΙ, p. J6 and Vol. IV, p. 668).
A well washed, chlorine-free product obtained according to the above example had the following content: 28.8 percent magnesium oxide, 24.5 percent boric anhydride, 11.9 percent active oxygen, 34.6 percent water. That in the present product really Magnesium perborate and not just a mixture of magnesium peroxide and boric acid follows, apart from the external and chemical properties of the new body, also from the fact that the yield active oxygen is almost theoretical,
H. most of the active oxygen used as superoxide is obtained in the form of magnesium perborate, while in the case of magnesium peroxide the yield is known leaves a lot to be desired. In addition, what is very useful in practice is the level of active oxygen in the magnesium perborates are considerably higher than that of the magnesium peroxide.
The magnesium perborate is of great durability and is said to be used in medicine and Find bleaching use.
