Description

Shut-off device for the supply line of the engine of an aircraft The invention relates to a shut-off device for the supply line of the engine of an airplane. Aircraft with internal combustion engines are not all that infrequent started with the fuel tap closed. The start is possible because in the carburetor or the Injection pumps and the fuel line there is still a supply of fuel, that allows it to be lifted off the ground. After lifting off the ground, the engine resets then suddenly off again, serious accidents result.

The invention is based on the object of creating a device which makes it impossible to start the aircraft powered by internal combustion engines, when the fuel line cock is closed.

The solution to the problem is that a resilient contact bolt of a switch located in the circuit of the aircraft starter motor is arranged in the movement path of the shut-off element and keeps the starting circuit interrupted when the shut-off element is closed. Although from denBauvorschriften a provision can be seen for aircraft of 1928, after which after shutdown of the engine, the oil valve must be closed and a backup must be present, excluding the start-up of the engine with closed oil tap, the expert was obvious from this almost 40 Years ago regulation did not draw any conclusions about the present invention. Up to the present day accidents have happened again and again which could have been avoided if a device according to the invention had been provided. Despite the known dangers, it was left to the pilot's responsibility to carry out the necessary checks before take-off.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown and described below. It shows F i g. 1 is a top view with the cock plug closed, FIG . 2 is a side view with the cock plug open.

The fuel line 1 from the fuel storage container, not shown, to the aircraft engine carries a cock plug 2 with a handle 3. The handle 3 assumes the shut-off position in the position shown in solid lines. So there is no fuel flowing from the fuel reservoir to the engine in the direction of the arrow. If the cock is to be opened, it must be moved from the position shown in FIG. 1 can be rotated 90 ' into the position shown in dashed lines (see also FIG. 2). The body 4 (F i g. 2) of the plug is a stem 5 is associated with a resilient contact pins 6, the irn way of the handle 3 is situated, and (not shown) with open handle 3 at the end of the starter circuit is depressed. The engine can be started by actuating the usual push button for the starter, and the cock is open as shown in FIG. 2 Guarantee that in this case the fuel line 1 is also released for the fuel supply and the continued supply of the engine is guaranteed.

If, on the other hand, the cock takes the position of FIG. 1 on , then the bolt 6 is moved upwards under the action of a spring and has thus interrupted the circuit of the starter motor independently of the push button of the starter motor.
