In Erkenntnis dieser Tatsache sind die bekannten Ballonbegrenzer so ausgestaltet, daß sie den Ballon einengen, weil auf diese Weise sich zum mindesten die Fliehkraft nicht oder nur in vermindertem Maße zur Erhöhung der Fadenspannung auswirken kann. Derartige Ballonbegrenzer sind in Form von Balloneinschnürungsringen und als Hohlzylinder mannigfach bekannt. Bei diesen stützt sich der Faden auf dem gesamten Umfang der vom Fadenballon beschriebenen Rotationsfläche gleichförmig ab. Die gleiche Wirkung haben auch aus Draht gebildete Rechts- oder Linksspiralen, die an Stelle von Einzelringen verwendet worden sind. Es ist ferner bekannt, die übereinander vorgesehenen Balloneinengungsringe mit verschiedenen Durchmessern zu versehen, um auf diese Weise dem Ballonbegrenzer und damit dem Fadenballon eine bestimmte Gestalt zu verleihen. Auch ist es bekannt, den zylindrischen Ballonbegrenzer mit einem nach einem heraustretenden, in Form einer Schraubenlinie aufsteigenden Vorsprung zu versehen.
