Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
KLASSE 30: Gesundheitspflege.CLASS 30: Health Care.
The tannin - formaldehyde prepared by the process of patent specification no. 88082 (Tannoform) is, because of its too great solubility in the intestinal juice, for internal use not suitable. It has now been found that, in contrast to the information in patent specification No. 88082, according to which tannin-formaldehyde behave indifferently to protein substances, glue and peptone and no coherent, solid, insoluble compounds should enter, the formaldehyde tannin is able to combine with protein bodies. Are these tannin-formaldehyde-protein compounds then with the in the patents No. 8802g and No. 9021 5 specified working materials of longer heating respectively. subjected to treatment with alcohols or acids, they are converted into preparations, which due to their greater resistance to the intestinal juice to the internal administration are suitable.
The commercial progress in these treated tannin-faialdehyde-protein compounds towards the tannin-formaldehyde results from their behavior towards ι proc. Soda solution.
If ι g tannin-formaldehyde with 100 ecm ι proc. Soda solution (1 g of Na 2 CO & in 100 g of water) is stirred at 40 ° C., it dissolves in it completely, while 1 g of the tannin-formaldehyde protein compounds prepared according to the present process is digested with 100 ecm 1 per cent. Sodium carbonate solution at 40 0 C. for 3 hours or about 67 per cent. leaves undissolved residue.
The compounds obtained are whitish-red powders; they are insoluble in water and the usual solvents, gradually soluble in alkalis.
Tannin-Formaldehyd.Just like tannin-formaldehyde, they are only heated with chemically pure sulfuric acid colored green and then blue. They contain about 43 pCt. Tannic formaldehyde.
A solution of 10 kg of tannin-formaldehyde in 50 kg 5 proc. Soda solution is converted into a solution of iokgEiweifs in 50 l of water let in. The resulting tannin-formaldehyde protein is neutralized precipitated with acids, filtered off, washed a few times with water, dried and, as indicated under 5., treated further.
A solution of 10 kg of tannin-formaldehyde in 50 liters of alcohol will gradually run into a solution of iokgEiweifs in 30 liters of water calmly. The excreted tannin-formaldehyde protein is either 24 hours treated directly with the precipitating liquor for a long time in order to make it difficult to dissolve in gastric and intestinal juices, or that Tannin-formaldehyde protein is filtered off, washed with water, dried and after 5 treated further.
A solution of 10 kg of tannin in 50 1 Water is with 2.5 1 40 proc. Formaldehyde solution added and this mixture in a Dissolve 10 kg of egg white in 50 liters of water while stirring in the cold or in the warm
The resulting compound is filtered off, washed out with water, dried and treated further after 5.
In a solution of 10 kg of tannin in 50 l of alcohol, 0.5 kg of formaldehyde gas is added initiated, and with this alcoholic tannin-formaldehyde solution a solution of Treated 10 kg of protein in 30 liters of water. The excreted tannin - formaldehyde - protein is either treated directly with the precipitating liquor for 24 hours to make it difficult to remove to give in gastric and intestinal juices, or the tannin-formaldehyde protein becomes filtered off, washed with water, dried and treated further after 5.
The tannin-formaldehyde protein compounds which can be represented by the methods of Examples 1, 2, 3 and 4 are treated with the working materials specified in patents No. 88029 and No. 90215, either by using them for a long time, e.g. B. heated to 130 0 for 6 hours or 10 hours of treatment with alcohol or acids, for. B. with five times the amount of alcohol or five times the amount of ι ο proc. Hydrochloric acid. Both the degrees of warmth and the amounts of alcohol or acids can be varied within considerable limits.
