Abstract

Method for film stretching and introduction of standards for attainment of reproducible images in diagnostic thermography in which after cooling of an object, a standard is maintained during the dynamic phase of re-warming of the object. During re-warming multiple images per second are recorded. Imaging is ended when the dynamic change per unit time falls below a fixed percentage.

Description

A distinction is made between electronic and plate thermography. The long critical attitude towards both methods has its Reason in the lack of standards and the lack of reproducibility of recordings.

Through a special device for the production of thermographic Recordings are the technical prerequisites for reproducibility created from recordings.

In the registration dated 10.12.01; Case number: 101 60 394.0, becomes a Described method to determine the warm-up time of the examining body part. From the previously measured cooling time for the complete disappearance of the thermo-optical image at constant Cooling temperature and evenly distributed cooling by a Cooling shield, the software always calculates the warm-up time to arrive at the result of comparable, reproducible images.

In the method to be described here, too, are the above described standards such as cooling and the necessary technical Conditions.

There is no cooling time measurement, which is not relevant for the further procedure.
  • A) The decisive factor is cooling until the moment the thermo-optical image has disappeared. At this moment the cooling is interrupted by removing the cooling shield.

Fig. IFig. I

A) When the cooling is finished, a filmic representation begins Documentation of the reheating process (RIT or re-image-time). The thermo-optical image builds up depending on the basic heat of the person to be examined Body part back up more or less quickly. The RIT is in the Moment ended in which a change of y percent to be determined.
B) During the RIT, a certain number of Recorded.
C) With a thermographic control examination of the same part of the body Another time can be the RIT due to external or internal factors because of the different basic heat of the body part to be examined be shorter or longer. If the basic heat is higher, the RIT = (RIT II) shorter and therefore the film required for taking the pictures (the number of frames per second is always the same).
Fig. IIFig. II

  • A) Um vergleichbare Bilder zu ermitteln wird jetzt der Film der Kontrolluntersuchung (RIT II) auf die Länge des Films der Erstuntersuchung (RIT I) gestreckt. A) In order to determine comparable images, the film of the Control examination (RIT II) on the length of the film of the initial examination (RIT I) stretched.
    B) After stretching the film (RIT II) to the length of the film (RIT I) we call the stretched film (RIT II-g).
Both films (RIT I) and (RIT II-g) are now the same length. The difference is that with the same length of the films, the total number of shots in (RIT II-g) is lower and thus the number of shots per second in (RIT II-g) is also lower.
C) After laying the films on top of each other, there is one in exactly the same place (c) Image taken per film. Both recordings are comparable. The This ensures reproducibility.
Bemerkungcomment

The point from which the recordings are taken (c) should logically lie in an area that the quality of the recordings guaranteed with regard to their evaluation and is freely selectable.

Claims (1)

Process of film stretching and introduction of standards for obtaining reproducible images in diagnostic thermography, characterized in that after cooling an object to be examined or a human or animal body part or body in compliance with standards, the dynamic phase of the rewarming is visualized by a film with (x ) Recordings per second is recorded, the end of the recording being determined by the dynamic changes per unit of time falling below a percentage (y) to be determined, the duration of the rewarming (a to b) being different for control recordings, which in turn can be the different initial heat of the body to be examined is related; the number of pictures per second is always the same, but the number of pictures per check-up is very different. Characterized in that when the film lengths of different control examinations are matched to a specific film length, the number of pictures per film does not change, but the number of pictures per second, or in other words, that a thinning of pictures occurs when the film is stretched; whereby, after length adjustment at a certain point, reproducible or comparable recordings can be taken from all films in the same location (c).
