Abstract

In the present invention, there is disclosed a protective strip (3) with illuminated effect for vehicle door (1) sill (2) wherein the protective strip (3) is formed by an opaque, bottom support structure (8) and a transparent, upper support structure (4). At least one lighting element (5) formed by an electroluminescent film or a system of light emitting diodes or another light-emitting means is located between said bottom support structure (8) and said transparent, upper support structure (4). In order to prevent action of various external effects such as moisture penetration to the lighting elements, and the like, both said support structures (4, 8) are connected together, gas- and fluid tight, along their peripheries.
