目前、局部活动义齿的镶配是在腭侧基托上设置牙托和义齿，其工作原理是通过基托与粘膜之间的摩擦力，并依靠金属卡环的拉力使义齿固定，其缺点是说话时容易暴露金属卡环、影响美观，固位差、易脱落，容易损伤齿体和齿体粘膜，并造成口腔内膜溃疡、引起牙周组织病变，如牙周炎、牙龈炎等。

如图1-3所示，该可摘活动义齿包括齿体1、侧托2、拉杆3、卡簧4和舌挡5，在齿体1内设置有卡簧4，在两组齿体1之间设置有拉杆3，在齿体1的外侧设置有舌挡5。
