The utility model relates to a multi-link watch strap or a wrist strap for a watch. In particular, although not exclusively, the invention relates to a watch strap link that can be easily assembled from a plurality of plastic parts, one of which has a logo or other graphic visible through the other plastic parts.

Background technique

Multi-link watch straps typically include metal or plastic links hingedly held together by pins. Assembly of this watchband requires the pins to be inserted sideways through pre-drilled holes. A logo or other pattern can be applied to the surface of the link.

Utility model content

It is an object of the present invention to provide an alternative watchband link configuration that includes visible internal markings. It is a further object of the present invention to provide a watch strap comprising a plurality of such links hinged, each link being assembled with a pin placed therebetween.

A watch strap link is disclosed herein, comprising:

a molded upper part, which is made of a light-transmitting plastic material;

a molded lower portion secured to said upper portion;

The upper part and/or the lower part have features of shape visible through the upper part.

Preferably, the upper part has first snap engagement means and the lower part has second snap engagement means cooperating with the first snap engagement means to connect the upper part and the lower part. The lower parts are fastened together.

Preferably, the upper part is made of transparent, translucent or light-colored plastic material.

Preferably, the upper part has an inverse shape that cooperates with the shape of the lower part.

Preferably, the shape structure of the lower part forms alphanumeric symbols, logos or other graphics.

Preferably, said upper part is made of polycarbonate.

Preferably said upper part and said lower part each have pin slots which co-operate to form pin holes for receiving watchband pins when said upper part and said lower part are snap-engaged with each other.

As used herein, the term "snap engagement means" includes straight-sided raised structures as illustrated in the drawings, or any other interengaging structures: such as lips, barbs or posts, and such as notches cooperating elements, grooves, etc., which, during assembly, can be snap-engaged by temporary elastic deformation of at least one mating part.

As used herein, the term "logo" includes any structure that may take the form of a graphic such as a pattern, shape, alphanumeric symbol, or trademark.

The beneficial effect of the utility model is that the internal logo can be seen through the surface of the chain links of the strap.

FIGS. 1 to 6 of the accompanying drawings depict a watchband link comprising an upper part 11 and a lower part 12 . The lower part 12 includes snap-engagement projections 15 , while the upper part 11 includes corresponding snap-engagement grooves 16 . During the snap engagement, the upper part 11 and the lower part 12 deform elastically so that the protrusion 15 fits in the groove 16 to secure the assembly.

Both the upper part 11 and the lower part 12 have semi-cylindrical pin slots which cooperate to form cylindrical pin holes when the upper part 11 and lower part 12 are snapped together. Before the upper and lower parts are snap-engaged with each other, the strap pin 14 is placed between the upper and lower parts so that the pin is placed in a cylindrical configuration formed between the upper and lower parts by the aligned semi-cylindrical pin slots Inside.

A plurality of links as shown in FIG. 5 can be hinged to each other to form a wristband 10 as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 .

The upper part 11 and lower part 12 are typically made of molded material, and PC (polycarbonate) may be an appropriate material of choice.

The lower portion 12 may typically be made of an opaque material. The upper surface of the lower portion 12 has a logo or other shape 13 molded into it so as to protrude slightly. Optionally, a logo or other shaped structure 13 may be slightly recessed into the lower portion 12 .

The upper portion 11 is molded from a light transmissive or "see-through" material. Again, polycarbonate may be a suitable material of choice. Furthermore, the upper part 11 is transparent, translucent or tinted. The bottom surface of the upper part 11 includes an inverse or "negative" shape corresponding/registered to the shape of the logo or other structure 13 formed at the upper surface of the lower part 12 . Furthermore, when the logo 13 is a "positive" protrusion, the bottom surface of the upper part 11 may have a mirrored "negative" groove. On the other hand, if the logo 13 is recessed into the surface of the lower part 12, the bottom surface of the upper part 11 may have a mirrored protrusion to fit within this recess. In any case, the logo of the lower part 12 matches the mirrored structure at the underside of the upper part 11 . The interlocking logos increase the rigidity of the links when the snaps are engaged.

In the assembled strap, the logo 13 is visible through the upper part 11 .

It should be understood that improvements or changes obvious to those skilled in the art should not be regarded as beyond the scope of the present invention. For example, when the lower portion 12 has a certain color, the logo can be colored a different color therefrom.

7. watchband chain link according to claim 1 is characterized in that, said top and said bottom all have cotter way, and said cotter way cooperates with each other to form the pin-and-hole of placing the watchband pin when said top and the mutual snap-engagement in said bottom.
