Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及一种发光组件,一种背光单元和一种具有该背光单元的显示器,该发光组件能够根据显示器的尺寸而被容易地组装以用作光源。
背景技术
通常,作为平板显示器的一种类型的液晶显示(LCD)装置是不自发光而利用来自外部的入射光来形成图像的光接收型显示器。LCD装置用于笔记本电脑、桌上型电脑、LCD-TV和移动通讯终端,LCD装置除了需要液晶面板之外,还需要背光单元。背光单元安装在LCD装置的后侧,将光发射到液晶面板上。
根据光源的布置,背光单元可主要分为直下式背光单元和边光式背光单元,其中,直下式背光单元将直接安装在LCD装置下面的多个光源发出的光发射到液晶面板上,边光式背光单元将安装在导光板(LGP)侧壁的光源发出的光发射到液晶面板上。在边光式背光单元中,冷阴极荧光灯(CCFL)用作光源。CCFL的色彩再现性差,因此不适用于高画质和高分辨率的TV或显示器。因此,发光二极管(LED)作为取代CCFL的光源已备受关注。
参照图1A,传统的边光式背光单元20包括多个LED 10及导光板15,其中,LED布置在PCB基底5上,导光板15使LED 10发出的光入射到液晶面板上。LED 10布置成多个列和行,如图1B中所示。LED 10包括产生红色光、绿色光和蓝色光的LED。红色光、绿色光和蓝色光在导光板15上混合,从而实现白光。
然而,在传统的边光式背光单元中,LED布置在PCB基底上以形成光源,其中,根据显示屏的尺寸,PCB基底被制造成预定尺寸。因此,由于应该根据显示屏的尺寸来制造具有不同尺寸的LED基底,所以应该根据显示屏的尺寸来构成生产线。因此增加了制造成本,并且由于显示屏的尺寸导致LED基底可被共用的频率降低。此外,当在LED的一部分中出现缺陷时,应该替换整个LED基底并且难以处理这些缺陷。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种无论显示屏的尺寸如何都能被有效使用的发光模块、一种背光单元和一种具有该背光单元的显示器。
根据本发明的一方面,提供了一种发光组件,其包括发光模块,其中,发光模块包括:基底,具有电连接部分;多个发光单元,布置在基底上,其中,利用电连接部分对发光模块进行组装。
发光单元可包括以下至少一个:底部;多个发光元件,布置在底部上并发射具有至少两种波长的光;罩,布置在发光元件上方,并全反射发光元件发出的光。
发光元件可以不位于底部的中心,而位于底部的内部的外围上。
罩可以是例如圆椎、多棱锥和圆顶的形式。
发光元件可包括:第一发光元件,发射红色波长范围内的光;第二发光元件,发射绿色波长范围内的光;第三发光元件,发射蓝色波长范围内的光。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供了一种将光发射到显示器上的背光单元,该背光单元包括具有发光模块的发光组件和引导从发光组件发出的光的导光板,其中,所述发光模块包括:基底,具有电连接部分;多个发光单元,布置在基底上,其中,利用电连接部分对发光模块进行组装。

具体实施方式
参照图2A和图2B,通过连接能够被组装的多个发光模块100,可将根据本发明示例性实施例的发光组件120构造为期望的尺寸。发光模块100中的每个包括多个发光单元110及电连接部分115和116,其中,发光单元110布置在基底105上,电连接部分115和116用于将发光模块100电连接。电连接部分115和116包括可成对结合以连接相邻的发光模块的第一连接部分115和第二连接部分116。图2A中示出的发光单元10的数量是4,但不限于这个数量,而是可以以各种方式来改变发光元件的数量。
基底105可以是印刷电路板(PCB)。当基底105被制造为PCB时,不需要附加的PCB,因而可进一步简化发光组件120的结构。也可以使用附加的PCB,且发光模块100可以在PCB上相互结合。
发光模块100可以是多芯片发光单元,这些多芯片发光单元具有多个发光元件,这些发光元件用于发射具有至少两种波长的光。例如,这些发光元件可以是发光二极管(LED)。此外,发光单元中的每个包括罩,该罩用于全反射从发光元件发射的光,从而将发光元件发出的具有不同波长的光在发光单元内部全反射多次,因而光被混合。
可以以各种结构来封装发光元件,在图3A、3B和3C中示出了发光元件的一些示例。在图3A中示出的发光单元110中,多个发光元件112布置在底部111上,罩113位于发光元件112上方。
发光元件112是用于发射具有至少两种不同波长的光的发光元件。例如,发光元件112包括:第一发光元件112a,用于发出红色波长范围内的光;第二发光元件112b,用于发出绿色波长范围内的光;第三发光元件112c,用于发出蓝色波长范围内的光。
在图3A中,发光元件112包括八个发光元件,即,三个第一发光元件112a、两个第二发光元件112b和三个第三发光元件112c。考虑到对于各波长范围的发光元件发出的光的量,可以根据期望的色温范围来改变用于各波长范围的发光元件的数量或布置形状。根据本发明,由于用于发出多个波长范围内的光的发光元件以各种布置方法和布置数量来形成并可被设置为发光元件的自由度大,所以可以容易地实现色彩并且制造者可以大范围地选择色彩。此外,即使当发光元件被构造成多芯片结构时,与具有单芯片的发光二极管相比,发光单元的尺寸改变不大,所以没有理由去担心体积增大。
发光元件发出的光穿过罩113,并在罩113内被全反射数次从而相互混合。罩113由透明材料构成,该透明材料的折射率大于相邻外部介质的折射率,例如,罩113可以是透镜。此外,虽然示出的罩113形成为圆锥形,但并不限于这种形状,可以以其它各种形状来形成罩113。例如,图3B中示出的发光单元110’包括圆顶形罩114,或者图3C中示出的发光单元110″包括多棱锥罩。在图3C中,多个发光元件135位于矩形底部130上,棱椎形罩132位于底部130上方。
发光元件112和135不位于底部111和130的中心,而是位于底部111和130的内部的外围。发光元件不位于底部111和130的中心,从而可防止斑点的形成。当发光元件发出的光不均匀地漫射并以相对高的亮度发射而被显示为局部亮点时,就形成光斑,从而导致画质下降。当发光元件位于底部111和130的中心并且位于中心的发光元件发射光时,大部分光入射到罩113、114和132的顶点,不被全反射而穿过罩113、114和132。即,当发光元件位于底部111和130的与罩113、114和132的中心对应的中心时,发光元件发出的光的大部分以比罩113、114和132的临界角小的角度入射,从而穿过罩113、114和132,直行或被折射。相反,当发光元件位于底部111和130的内部的外围时,发光元件发出的光的大部分以比罩113、114和132的临界角大的角度入射,从而在罩113、114和132内部被全反射。

参照图4,显示器包括背光单元150和显示面板170,其中,显示面板170利用背光单元150发射的光来形成图像。背光单元150包括:发光组件120,由发光模块100组合;导光板140,用于将发光组件120发射的光引导向显示面板170。
漫射板153、棱镜片155和增亮膜(BEF)157位于导光板140和显示面板170之间,其中,漫射板153用于漫射光,棱镜片155用于校正光路,增亮膜157用于提高方向性以将穿过棱镜片155的光导向显示面板170。BEF 157折射和会聚从漫射板153发出的光,以提高光的方向性,从而增强亮度。
例如,显示面板170可以是液晶面板。当显示面板170是液晶面板时,可进一步在BEF 157上方设置用于提高偏振效率的偏振增强膜160。偏振增强膜160透射p偏振光而反射s偏振光,从而入射光中的大部分作为在一个方向上偏振的光比如p偏振光被发射。
棱镜图案145可形成在导光板140的底表面上。棱镜图案145防止当发光组件120发射的光通过导光板140被反射时由于棱镜图案145与发光组件120远离而导致光的强度降低,从而增强了光的均匀性。当棱镜图案145与发光组件120远离时,棱镜图案145布置得更密。此外,当发光组件120位于导光板140的两边时,棱镜图案145可以关于导光板140的中线对称。
如上所述,利用成块的发光模块,可以根据显示屏的尺寸来以各种形状组装根据本发明的发光组件,从而可非常有效地利用发光组件。此外,为了提高背光单元边缘处相对低的亮度,将提供给位于发光组件的边缘处的发光模块的电流大小可以大于将提供给其它发光模块的电流大小。这是因为在各发光模块中电流供给可以被独立地控制。
此外,根据本发明的发光组件除了可以用于边光式背光单元之外,还可以用于直下式背光单元。
利用包括一些单独的块的发光模块,可以组装根据本发明的发光组件,因此,无论显示屏尺寸如何,发光组件都可以被自由地使用,并且当出现有缺陷的元件时,可以容易地用另一个发光组件来代替这个发光组件。因此,由于不需要根据显示屏的尺寸而设置不同的生产线来生产背光单元中使用的光源,所以可显著地降低制造成本。此外,由于发光模块可以被单独地驱动,所以与提供到其它发光模块的电流相比,相对大的电流被提供到位于发光组件的边缘处的发光模块,从而可防止在边缘处形成斑点。
选择发光组件的尺寸,从而其可被广泛地用于背光单元和显示器中。
虽然已经参照本发明的示例性实施例具体示出和描述了本发明,但是本领域的普通技术人员应该理解,在不脱离由权利要求限定的本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以在本发明中作各种形式和细节上的改变。
Claims (17)
1、一种发光组件,包括发光模块,其中,所述发光模块包括:
基底,具有电连接部分;
多个发光单元,布置在所述基底上,
其中,利用所述电连接部分对所述发光模块进行组装。
2、如权利要求1所述的发光组件,其中,所述发光单元包括:
底部;
多个发光元件,布置在所述底部上并发射具有至少两种波长的光;
罩,布置在所述发光元件上方,并全反射所述发光元件发出的光。
3、如权利要求2所述的发光组件,其中,所述发光元件不位于所述底部的中心而位于所述底部的内部的外围上。
4、如权利要求2所述的发光组件,其中,所述罩是圆椎、多棱锥或圆顶的形式。
5、如权利要求2所述的发光组件,其中,所述罩包括透镜。
6、如权利要求2所述的发光组件,其中,所述发光元件包括:
第一发光元件,发射红色波长范围内的光;
第二发光元件,发射绿色波长范围内的光;
第三发光元件,发射蓝色波长范围内的光。
7、如权利要求1所述的发光组件,其中,所述基底包括印刷电路板。
8、一种将光发射到显示器上的背光单元,所述背光单元包括:
具有发光模块的发光组件和引导从所述发光组件发出的光的导光板,其中,所述发光模块包括:
基底,具有电连接部分;
多个发光单元,布置在所述基底上,
其中,利用所述电连接部分对所述发光模块进行组装。
9、如权利要求8所述的背光单元,还包括漫射板,所述漫射板位于所述导光板上方并用于漫射和透射入射光。
10、如权利要求8所述的背光单元,其中,所述发光单元包括:
底部;
多个发光元件,布置在所述底部上并发射具有至少两种波长的光;
罩,布置在所述发光元件上方,并全反射所述发光元件发出的光。
11、如权利要求10所述的背光单元,其中,所述发光元件不位于所述底部的中心,而位于所述底部的内部的外围上。
12、如权利要求10所述的背光单元,其中,所述罩是圆椎、多棱锥或圆顶的形式。
13、如权利要求12所述的背光单元,其中,所述罩包括透镜。
14、如权利要求10所述的背光单元,其中,所述发光元件包括:
第一发光元件,发射红色波长范围内的光;
第二发光元件,发射绿色波长范围内的光;
第三发光元件,发射蓝色波长范围内的光。
15、一种显示器,包括背光单元和利用所述背光单元发射的光来形成图像的显示面板,其中,所述背光单元包括具有发光模块的发光组件和引导从所述发光组件发出的光的导光板,其中,所述发光模块包括:
基底,具有电连接部分;
多个发光单元,布置在所述基底上,
其中,利用所述电连接部分对所述发光模块进行组装。
16、如权利要求15所述的显示器,还包括漫射板,所述漫射板位于所述导光板上方并漫射和透射入射光。
17、如权利要求15所述的显示器,其中,所述发光单元包括:
底部;
多个发光元件,布置在所述底部上并发射具有至少两种波长的光;
罩,布置在所述发光元件上方,并全反射从所述发光元件发出的光。
