The implementations described in the following exemplary examples do not represent all implementations consistent with the present disclosure. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatuses and methods consistent with aspects of the present disclosure as recited in the appended claims.

Before introducing the brightness adjustment method, device, and storage medium of the present disclosure, the application scenarios of the present disclosure are introduced first. The various embodiments provided in the present disclosure can be used in brightness adjustment scenarios, such as screen brightness adjustment scenarios of various terminal devices (mobile phones, monitors, tablet computers, etc.).

例如,对于OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode,有机发光二极管)、AMOLED(ActiveMatrix/Organic Light Emitting Diode,有源矩阵/有机发光二极管)、LTPO(LowTemperature Polycrystalline Oxide,低温多晶氧化物)、Micro LED(微米发光二极管)、MINI LED(次毫米发光二极管)等屏幕类型,可以通过控制屏幕面板电路电流,达到控制单个像素点亮度的效果。 In some implementation scenarios, the display brightness of the screen may be adjusted by adjusting the backlight of the screen. For example, for OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode, organic light-emitting diode), AMOLED (ActiveMatrix/Organic Light Emitting Diode, active matrix/organic light-emitting diode), LTPO (LowTemperature Polycrystalline Oxide, low-temperature polycrystalline oxide), Micro LED ( Micron light-emitting diodes), MINI LED (submillimeter light-emitting diodes) and other screen types can achieve the effect of controlling the brightness of a single pixel by controlling the circuit current of the screen panel. However, in order to ensure the display consistency of the screen, the control accuracy of the circuit current of the screen panel is limited, so it is difficult to control the brightness of the screen to change with a small granularity.

For example, in a relevant scenario, the intensity of the screen backlight can be divided into 2048 levels, so that the display brightness of the screen also includes 2048 levels. However, human eyes are highly sensitive to brightness changes, so such a brightness adjustment method may still affect user experience. For example, in a low-light environment, the human eye may become more sensitive to changes in brightness. This makes the brightness adjustment of the same granularity appear more dazzling in a low-brightness environment (such as a dark room), which may cause damage to the user's eyes.

To this end, the present disclosure provides a brightness adjustment method, which can be used in various terminal devices, such as mobile phones, tablet computers, monitors, and the like. Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a brightness adjustment method shown in the present disclosure. Referring to Fig. 1, the method includes:

In step S102, a target brightness level is determined.

For example, ambient brightness information may be collected according to one or more sensors, and the target brightness level may be determined according to the ambient brightness information. As an example, an association relationship between ambient brightness values and brightness levels may be established in advance. In this way, the target ambient brightness value can be determined according to the ambient brightness information collected by the sensor, and the target brightness level associated with the target ambient brightness value can be obtained by querying the association relationship. In some examples, multiple ambient brightness value intervals may also be divided, and an association relationship between the ambient brightness value intervals and brightness levels may be established. In this case, the ambient brightness value interval to which the target ambient brightness value belongs may be determined, so that the brightness level associated with the ambient brightness value interval is used as the target brightness level.

In some implementation scenarios, the target brightness level may also refer to a virtual software backlight value (Display Brightness Value, DBV) issued by the Android (Android) system. For the way to obtain the DBV, please refer to the description in the related art, which will not be repeated in this disclosure.

In step S104, target adjustment information is determined according to the target brightness level.

Referring to the flow chart of a brightness adjustment method shown in FIG. 2, in a possible implementation manner, before determining the target adjustment information according to the target brightness level (step S104), the method further includes:

在步骤S103中,构建亮度等级和调整信息的关联关系;In step S103, a relationship between the brightness level and the adjustment information is constructed;

The determining target adjustment information according to the target brightness level (step S104) includes:

Step S1041, querying the association relationship according to the target brightness level to obtain target adjustment information.

For example, 16384 brightness levels can be pre-marked, and adjustment information can be configured for each brightness level. In this way, the association relationship can be constructed according to each brightness level and the adjustment information associated with the brightness level. The association relationship may be presented, for example, in the form of a table or a related index, which is not limited in the present disclosure.

In the association relationship, the adjustment information includes backlight brightness information and image brightness parameters. The backlight brightness information may include, for example, a current value, that is, the size of the backlight brightness in the screen can be controlled by the magnitude of the current value, and the brightness of the backlight of the screen can be controlled by inputting a current signal with the magnitude of the current value into the screen circuit. The image brightness parameter is used to adjust the brightness value of the image to be displayed on the screen.

In this way, in step S1041, the association relationship may be queried according to the target brightness level, so as to obtain the target adjustment information corresponding to the target brightness level. The target adjustment information includes target backlight brightness information and target image brightness parameters, and the target image brightness parameters are used to adjust image brightness.

Certainly, in some possible implementation manners, after obtaining the target brightness level, the target backlight brightness information and target image brightness parameters may also be obtained by calculation, so as to obtain the target adjustment information, which is not discussed in the present disclosure. Do limit.

In step S106, adjust the backlight brightness of the screen and/or the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed according to the target adjustment information, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

It should be noted that although the target adjustment information includes target backlight brightness information and target image brightness parameters, in the actual brightness adjustment process, it may not be necessary to adjust the backlight brightness of the screen or the image brightness of the image frame.

For example, in a possible implementation manner, the brightness of the backlight of the screen may be adjusted according to the target adjustment information, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

As an example, in some implementation scenarios, the target adjustment information may include "the brightness of the backlight is 100 nits, and the image brightness of the image frame P is reduced by 2%". Then, in the case that the current screen brightness configuration is "backlight brightness is 101 nits, and the image brightness of image frame P is reduced by 2%", the backlight brightness of the screen can be adjusted to 101 nits without adjusting the image of image frame P brightness. That is to say, the current screen brightness configuration can be obtained. When the target image brightness parameter is consistent with the current image brightness parameter, and the target backlight brightness information is inconsistent with the current backlight brightness information, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted by adjusting the brightness of the backlight of the screen.

In a possible implementation manner, the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed may also be adjusted according to the target adjustment information, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

For example, in some implementation scenarios, the target adjustment information may include "the brightness of the backlight is 100 nits, and the image brightness of the image frame P is reduced by 2%". Then, in the case where the current screen brightness configuration is "backlight brightness 100 nits, image brightness of image frame P is reduced by 1%", the image brightness of image frame P can be reduced to 2% without adjusting the screen backlight brightness. That is to say, the current screen brightness configuration can be obtained. When the target backlight brightness information is consistent with the current backlight brightness information, and the target image brightness parameter is inconsistent with the current image brightness parameter, the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed may be adjusted. In this way, by displaying the image frame whose brightness has been adjusted, the brightness of the screen can be adjusted.

In a possible implementation manner, the backlight brightness of the screen and the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed may also be adjusted according to the target adjustment information, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

Referring to the flow chart of a brightness adjustment method shown in FIG. 3 , in a possible implementation manner, the backlight brightness of the screen and the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed are adjusted according to the target adjustment information, so as to Adjust the brightness of the screen, including:

In step S1061, the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed is adjusted according to the target image brightness parameter to obtain the target image frame.

In step S1062, based on the target backlight brightness information, the screen is controlled to display the target image frame, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

For example, in a possible implementation manner, the target image brightness parameter includes a target color matrix, the target color matrix is a fourth-order diagonal matrix, and the values of the first three diagonal elements of the fourth-order diagonal matrix Same, the described target image brightness parameter is used to adjust the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed to obtain the target image frame (step S1061), including:

获取所述待显示的图像帧的颜色分量矩阵;Acquiring the color component matrix of the image frame to be displayed;

The color component matrix is multiplied by the target color matrix, and the target image frame is determined according to the multiplication result.

Taking the Android graphics display model as an example, the color matrix can be a 4x4 matrix, and 4 rows and 4 columns respectively represent Red, Green, Blue, and Alpha (transparency). The color component matrix of the image frame may include the color component matrix of each pixel of the image frame. The color component matrix of a pixel can store the RGBA value of the pixel, that is, the Red, Green, Blue and Alpha values of the pixel.

In this way, if the color matrix is a diagonal matrix, and the values of the first three diagonal elements of the diagonal matrix are the same, then the color component matrix of the image frame is processed through the color matrix, and the brightness value change can be obtained. target image frame. For example, when the values of the first three diagonal elements of the diagonal matrix are the same and less than 1, a target image frame with reduced brightness (relative to the image frame to be displayed) can be obtained. When the values of the first three diagonal elements of the diagonal matrix are the same and greater than 1, the target image frame with increased brightness can be obtained.

In addition, the fourth diagonal element of the target color matrix corresponds to the transparency of the image frame. When the transparency does not need to be changed, the fourth diagonal element of the target color matrix can be set to 1, and the obtained target color The matrix M looks like this:

Figure BDA0003839182720000111
Figure BDA0003839182720000111

In this way, the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed can be adjusted through the target color matrix to obtain the target image frame, and based on the target backlight brightness information, the screen is controlled to display the target image frame to adjust the brightness of the screen. For example, if the target backlight brightness information includes the target current value, a current signal with the target current value can be input into the screen circuit, thereby adjusting the backlight brightness of the screen, and driving the screen to display the target image frame.

It should be noted that the display brightness of the screen may be obtained by superimposing the brightness of the backlight of the screen and the image brightness of the image frame displayed on the screen. Therefore, the above technical solution can achieve the effect of adjusting the display brightness of the screen by adjusting the brightness value of the image frame to be displayed, and then displaying the target image frame after the image brightness changes. Moreover, under the condition that the brightness of the backlight remains unchanged, multiple adjustment levels of the brightness of the image may also be set, so as to realize the fine adjustment of the brightness of the screen.

For example, in the case of 2048 levels of backlight brightness, 8 groups of target image brightness parameters can be correspondingly set for each level of backlight brightness. That is to say, 8 kinds of processing (such as dimming) can be performed on the brightness of the image, so that the target image frame can present 8 kinds of brightness. In this way, even if the brightness of the backlight is the same, when the target image frames of the eight kinds of brightness are displayed, the whole screen will show different brightness values. In this way, the level of screen brightness can be increased from 2048 levels to 16384 levels.

That is to say, the above technical solution can adjust the final display brightness of the screen in combination with the brightness of the image, so as to break through the fineness limit of backlight brightness adjustment, and further improve the fineness of screen brightness adjustment.

It should be noted that, in some implementation scenarios, when the screen brightness is adjusted based on the target adjustment information, there may also be a flickering or split screen phenomenon, thereby affecting the user's terminal use process.

In this regard, the applicant found that when the effective timing of the backlight command of the target image frame is not synchronized with the display timing of the target image frame, that is, when the refreshment of the screen content and the refreshment of the backlight brightness are not synchronized, a flickering or split-screen phenomenon may occur.

To this end, the present disclosure provides a method for adjusting brightness. Referring to the flowchart of a method for adjusting brightness shown in FIG. 4 , the method includes:

In step S41, a target brightness level is determined.

In step S42, target adjustment information is determined according to the target brightness level, and the target adjustment information includes target backlight brightness information and target image brightness parameters.

In step S43, the brightness parameter of the target image is written into the first register.

In step S44, the tearing effect signal of the display driving chip is acquired.

In step S45, the target backlight brightness information is written into the second register during the low level period of the tearing effect signal.

In step S46, the display driver chip is controlled to acquire target image brightness parameters from the first register, and target backlight brightness information from the second register.

In step S47, the display driver chip is controlled to adjust the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed through the target image brightness parameter to obtain the target image frame.

In step S48, the display driver chip is controlled to control the screen to display the target image frame based on the target backlight brightness information, so as to adjust the brightness of the screen.

撕裂效应信号即TE(Tearing effect)同步信号,用于屏幕显示帧的同步。由于DDIC(Display Driver Integrated Circuit Chip,显示驱动芯片)内部对于命令生效的时机较为固定,在撕裂效应信号的高电平期间,DDIC不会即时加载寄存器中的配置信息。 The tearing effect signal is a TE (Tearing effect) synchronous signal, which is used for synchronizing the frames displayed on the screen. Since the DDIC (Display Driver Integrated Circuit Chip, display driver chip) has a relatively fixed timing for the command to take effect, the DDIC will not immediately load the configuration information in the register during the high level period of the tearing effect signal. At the falling edge of the tearing effect signal, the DDIC can load the configuration information in the register, and then send the image frame data in the dynamic random access memory to the screen for display.

Therefore, if the tearing effect signal is at a high level, the target backlight brightness information is written into the second register. Then the DDIC can read the second register at the falling edge of the tearing effect signal of the current frame, thus causing the backlight command to take effect in advance, thereby causing the flicker/split screen problem.

B。Here, the above problem will be described by taking the display of adjacent image frame A and image frame B as an example. Wherein, the adjustment information of image frame A includes backlight brightness A and image brightness parameter A, and the adjustment information of image frame B includes backlight brightness B and image brightness parameter B.

In the display period of the image frame A, the display driver chip can obtain the image brightness parameter in the first register and the backlight brightness information in the second register at the falling edge of the tearing effect signal, and according to the acquired backlight brightness information, The target image frame A in the dynamic random access memory is sent to the screen for display. Here, the target image frame A is obtained by processing the image frame A based on the image brightness parameter A by the display driver chip.

Wherein, if the backlight brightness A is stored in the second register, the display driver chip can drive the screen to display the target image frame A according to the backlight brightness A. Since the target image frame A is obtained by processing the image frame A based on the image brightness parameter A by the display driver chip, the image brightness parameter A and the backlight brightness A take effect synchronously. In this case, image frame A can be displayed normally.

In addition, in order to display the image frame B, it is also necessary to write the adjustment information of the image frame B into the register. Because the display driver chip loads the configuration information in the register at the falling edge of the tearing effect signal. Therefore, in order to display the image frame B normally, it is necessary to adjust the image frame B to the target image frame B in advance and write it into the dynamic random access memory. That is to say, it is necessary to write the adjustment information of the image frame B into the register during the display period of the image frame A.

It is worth noting that if the backlight brightness B is written into the second register during the high level period of the tearing effect signal, then in the display period of the image frame A, the display driver chip can be at the falling edge of the tearing effect signal Load the second register to get backlight brightness B. In this way, the display driver chip can drive the screen to display the target image frame A according to the loaded backlight brightness B. Since the target image frame A is obtained by processing the image frame A based on the image brightness parameter A by the display driver chip, but the backlight brightness B is the backlight brightness of the next frame image (that is, the image frame B), so the image brightness parameter A and the backlight brightness A have no Take effect together. In this case, the screen may flicker or split.

During the display period of an image frame (such as image frame A), the tearing effect signal changes from a high level to a low level after a falling edge. However, if the tearing effect signal is at a low level, the backlight brightness B is written into the second register. At this time, since the display driver chip has loaded the backlight brightness A at the falling edge, the display driver chip can drive the screen to display the target image frame A according to the backlight brightness A, that is, the image frame A can be displayed normally.

In addition, the display driver chip can display according to the backlight brightness information in the second register and the target image frame A (obtained by the display driver chip in advance) in the dynamic random access memory. Therefore, in the display period of image frame A, the image brightness parameter loaded by the display driver chip (loaded at the falling edge of the tearing effect signal) does not act on image frame A, but acts on the next frame of image frame A image (i.e. image frame B). That is to say, the image brightness parameter B can be written into the first register at any moment in the display period of the image frame A.

In this way, after the image frame A is displayed, in the display period of the image frame B, the display driver chip can process the image frame B according to the image brightness parameter B, and write the processed target image frame B into the DRAM stored in memory for display.

In the above technical solution, the target image brightness parameter is written into the first register, and the target backlight brightness information is written into the second register during the low level period of the tearing effect signal. In this way, it can be ensured that the effective timing of the target backlight brightness information and the target image brightness parameter are consistent, thereby avoiding the problem of splash screen/split screen.

Using the above example, since the brightness parameter of the target image is applied to the image to be displayed in the next frame, it does not take effect on the image of the current frame. Therefore, the present disclosure does not limit the timing of writing the brightness parameter of the target image into the register. For example, in some implementation scenarios, the target backlight brightness information and the target image brightness parameters may be written as one command packet, thereby simplifying the number of commands. In this case, before adjusting the image brightness of the image frame to be displayed through the target image brightness parameter, it includes:

获取显示驱动芯片的撕裂效应信号;Obtain the tearing effect signal of the display driver chip;

在所述撕裂效应信号的低电平期间,将所述目标背光亮度信息以及所述目标图像亮度参数写入至第三寄存器中;During the low level period of the tearing effect signal, write the target backlight brightness information and the target image brightness parameter into a third register;

controlling the display driver chip to obtain the target image brightness parameter and the target backlight brightness information from the third register.

In this manner, it can be ensured that the target backlight brightness information and the target image brightness parameter take effect at the same time, thereby avoiding the splash screen/split screen problem.
