In this embodiment, priority ranking is performed according to the message information to obtain a display sequence, so as to achieve ranking of importance levels of the message information, and further obtain the display sequence. Further, according to the display sequence, the message information is displayed in the display area, so that the message information is displayed in the fixed display area according to the display sequence. The method and the device realize the partitioning of the message information and the display according to the display sequence, the display result is visual and orderly, the viewing of a driving user is facilitated, the driving feeling is effectively improved, and the driving safety is improved.

When the meter setting information is prioritized, version inquiry information is defined as 2 levels, maintenance prompt information is defined as 3 levels, meter setting information is defined as 5 levels, and sound-light adjustment information, time setting information, symbol definition information is defined as 8 levels.
When the fault prompt information is subjected to priority ranking, the buzzer module prompt information is defined as 1 level, the icon module prompt information is defined as 2 level, and the text module prompt information is defined as 3 level.
In addition, each message information can also contain the message information of the next level, and the message information of the next level can be folded or unfolded, so that the display level is clear, and the display effect is concise and clear.

In this embodiment, the display brightness of the display screen is adjusted according to the light intensity by acquiring the light intensity of the environment in which the meter device is located. based on the message category as the basic category information of the vehicle, displaying longitudinally or transversely in a first display area;
based on the message category as prompt category information, displaying longitudinally or transversely in a second display area;
based on the message category as indication category information, displaying longitudinally or transversely in a third display area;
and based on the message type as warning type information, displaying longitudinally or transversely in a fourth display area.
8. The meter device display method according to any one of claims 5 to 7, further comprising:
and acquiring the light intensity of the environment where the instrument device is positioned, and adjusting the display brightness of the display screen according to the light intensity.
