Abstract

The invention provides a display module and an electronic device, wherein the display module comprises: a display panel including a first region and a second region; the optical adhesive layer is positioned on the display panel; the touch layer is positioned on the first area of the display panel and is fixed with the display panel through the optical adhesive layer; the touch flexible circuit board is located on the second area of the display panel and connected with the touch layer, and the touch flexible circuit board is fixed with the second area through the optical adhesive layer. According to the invention, the touch flexible circuit board is attached to the bending area of the display panel by adopting the optical adhesive layer, so that the gap between the touch flexible circuit board and the display panel is reduced while the bending area is supported, and the size of the frame of the display module structure is effectively reduced.

Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of display, in particular to a display module and an electronic device.
Background
At present, the popularization degree of full-screen mobile phones is higher and higher, and screens with high screen occupation ratios are more and more popular, so that a plurality of narrow frame schemes are brought forward, mainly aiming at left and right frames, but for mobile phones, the problem of improving the screen occupation ratios and lowering the frames is always a great issue. The screen area is the ratio of the screen area to the whole machine area, a higher screen area ratio can bring better visual experience to users, the flexible OLED display screen is a key element which can realize the design of a hyperboloid at present, and with the gradual maturity of the flexible OLED technology, the appearance design and the physical form of a future mobile phone will still generate more innovation and change.
For manufacturers of display panels, the conventional module structure has a limited size of the frame that can be reduced. Therefore, it is an urgent need to design a novel display module and an electronic device to reduce the size of the frame.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides a display module and an electronic device, and aims to solve the problem that a display module frame is large due to the fact that a gap exists between a touch flexible circuit board and a display panel in the display module.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a display module including:
a display panel including a first region provided with a pixel array and a second region connected with the first region and bent to a back of the first region;
an optical adhesive layer located over the display panel and covering the first and second regions of the display panel;
the touch layer is positioned on the first area of the display panel and is fixed with the display panel through the optical adhesive layer;
the touch flexible circuit board is located on the second area of the display panel and connected with the touch layer, and the touch flexible circuit board is fixed with the second area through the optical adhesive layer.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the touch flexible circuit board is fully attached to the bending area of the second area of the display panel.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a connection position of the touch flexible circuit board and the touch layer is located between the display panel and the touch layer.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the connection position of the touch flexible circuit board and the touch layer is located on a side of the touch layer away from the display panel.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second region includes an outer lead attachment region;
the touch flexible circuit board is fixed with the second area of the display panel through the optical adhesive layer, and the end part of the optical adhesive layer is located in the outer pin attaching area.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a driving circuit is disposed on a region of the second area not bonded by the optical adhesive layer, and the driving circuit is located between the second area and the touch flexible circuit board.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, an adhesive tape is attached to the periphery of the driving circuit.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the display module further includes a cover film, the cover film is connected to the second region, a connection position of the cover film and the second region is located in a region of the second region not bonded by the optical adhesive layer, and the cover film is provided with a driving circuit.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the display module further includes:
the back plate layer is arranged on the surface of one side, away from the optical adhesive layer, of the display panel and comprises a first back plate and a second back plate;

The display module and the electronic device have the advantages that the optical adhesive layer is adopted to attach the touch flexible circuit board to the bending area of the display panel, so that the bending area is supported, the gap between the touch flexible circuit board and the display panel is reduced, and the size of a frame of the display module structure is effectively reduced.

The following description of the various embodiments refers to the accompanying drawings that illustrate specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. The directional terms mentioned in the present invention, such as [ upper ], [ lower ], [ front ], [ rear ], [ left ], [ right ], [ inner ], [ outer ], [ side ], are only referring to the directions of the attached drawings. Accordingly, the directional terms used are used for explanation and understanding of the present invention, and are not used for limiting the present invention. In the drawings, elements having similar structures are denoted by the same reference numerals.
The invention provides a display module and an electronic device, wherein a gap exists between a touch flexible circuit board and a display panel in the display module, so that the problem that the frame of the display module is large is solved.
The invention will be further described with reference to the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments:
as shown in fig. 1, according to a first embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a display module including:
the display panel 11 includes a first region 111 and a second region 112, the first region 111 is provided with a pixel array, and the second region 112 is connected with the first region 111 and is bent to a back of the first region 111.
Generally, the first region 111 includes a display region for implementing a display function of the display panel 11, the second region 112 includes a bending region for implementing a bending configuration of the display panel 11, a main material of the bending region is made of a flexible organic material, and metal traces for signal connection between the first region and a driving circuit are arranged on the bending region; in the display panel, the second region 112 exhibits a curved state to realize a narrow bezel design of the display device; of course, the structure of the second region 112 is not limited to the organic material and the metal traces, and other related structures may also be provided.
Further, the second area comprises an outer pin attaching area, and a metal wire used for connecting the display panel and the driving circuit is arranged in the outer pin attaching area.
An optical adhesive layer 12, wherein the optical adhesive layer 12 is located on the display panel 11 and covers the first region 111 and the second region 112 of the display panel 11.
Preferably, the material of the optical adhesive layer 12 includes OCA optical adhesive, which has good light transmittance and adhesion; in the present invention, the optical adhesive layer 12 is used not only for fixing the touch layer 14 and the display panel 11, but also for bonding the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the display panel 12.
The touch layer 14 is located on the first area 111 of the display panel 11, and is fixed to the display panel 11 through the optical adhesive layer 12.
Generally, the touch layer 14 includes touch electrodes and signal traces for transmitting touch signals.
The touch flexible circuit board 13 is located on the second area 112 of the display panel and connected to the touch layer 14, and the touch flexible circuit board 13 is fixed to the second area 112 through the optical adhesive layer 12.
It should be explained that in order to transmit the touch signal of the touch layer 14 to the control circuit, the touch signal needs to be transmitted through the touch flexible circuit board 13, but in the existing display module, the touch flexible circuit board 13 cannot reach the same bending state as the bending area of the display panel through mechanical bending, which inevitably causes a small gap between the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the display panel 11 at the bending position, and further affects the narrow frame design of the display device. According to the invention, the touch flexible circuit board 13 is attached to the display panel 11 by adopting the optical adhesive layer, so that the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the display panel 11 can be bent together after being attached, and the bending distance between the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the display panel 11 is controllable, thereby achieving the narrow frame design of the display device; moreover, compared with the second area 112 of the display panel 11, the touch flexible circuit board 13 has higher stability and is not easy to deform, so that the flexible second area 112 in the display panel can be supported, and the problem that the second area 112 is easy to deform is solved.
Preferably, the touch flexible circuit board 13 is fully attached to the bending area of the second area 112 of the display panel, so as to support the second area 112.
Preferably, the connection position of the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the touch layer 14 is located between the display panel 111 and the touch layer 14, and the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the touch layer 14 are prevented from being in poor contact through the clamping action of the display panel 111 and the touch layer 14.
In the second embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2, the connection position of the touch flexible circuit board 13 and the touch layer 14 is located on a side of the touch layer 14 away from the display panel 11.
The second region 112 includes an outer lead attachment region;
the touch flexible circuit board 13 is fixed to the second area 112 of the display panel 11 through the optical adhesive layer 12, and an end of the optical adhesive layer 12 is located in the outer lead bonding area.
Generally, the display module generally comprises a COF structure and a COP structure, and the display module can be suitable for both the COF structure and the COP structure; one difference between the two is that in the COF structure, the bus bar region of the display panel is located between the display region and the bending region of the display panel, and in the COP structure, the bus bar region and the display region of the display panel are located at two ends of the bending region.
In a third embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 4, in the display module adopting the COP structure, a driving circuit 16 is disposed on a region, which is not bonded by the optical adhesive layer 12, in the second region 112, and the driving circuit 16 is located between the second region 112 and the touch flexible circuit board 13.
Further, in the present embodiment, since the driving circuit 16 receives a pressure when the touch flexible wiring board 13 is attached, the present invention provides: the periphery of the driving circuit 16 is attached with an adhesive tape to protect the driving circuit.
In a fourth embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 3, the display module with a COF structure further includes a Chip On Flex (or Chip On film, often called COF), the Chip On Flex (15) is connected to the second region 112, a connection position of the Chip On Flex (15) and the second region 112 is located in a region of the second region 112 that is not bonded by the optical adhesive layer 12, and a driving circuit is disposed On the Chip On Flex (15).
Specifically, in a fifth embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 5, the display module further includes:
the back plate layer 17 is arranged on the surface of the display panel 11 on the side away from the optical adhesive layer 12, and comprises a first back plate 171 and a second back plate 172;
and a support layer 18 disposed between the first back plate 171 and the second back plate 172, the support layer fixing the first back plate 171 and the second back plate 172.
According to another invention, there is also provided an electronic device including the display module set recited in any one of claims 1 to 9.
The working principle of the electronic device is similar to that of the display module, and the working principle of the electronic device can specifically refer to that of the display module, which is not described herein again.
The display module and the electronic device have the advantages that the optical adhesive layer is adopted to attach the touch flexible circuit board to the bending area of the display panel, so that the bending area is supported, the gap between the touch flexible circuit board and the display panel is reduced, and the size of a frame of the display module structure is effectively reduced.
In summary, although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, the above-described preferred embodiments are not intended to limit the present invention, and those skilled in the art can make various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, therefore, the scope of the present invention shall be determined by the appended claims.

Claims (8)

1. A display module, comprising:
a display panel including a first region provided with a pixel array and a second region connected with the first region and bent to a back of the first region;
an optical adhesive layer located over the display panel and covering the first and second regions of the display panel;
the touch layer is positioned on the first area of the display panel and is fixed with the display panel through the optical adhesive layer;
the touch flexible circuit board is positioned on the second area of the display panel and connected with the touch layer, and the touch flexible circuit board is completely attached to the bending area of the second area of the display panel;
the second area comprises an outer pin attaching area; the touch flexible circuit board is fixed with the second area of the display panel through the optical adhesive layer, and the end part of the optical adhesive layer is located in the outer pin attaching area.
2. The display module assembly according to claim 1, wherein the connection position of the touch flexible circuit board and the touch layer is located between the display panel and the touch layer.
3. The display module assembly according to claim 1, wherein the connection position of the touch flexible circuit board and the touch layer is located on a side of the touch layer away from the display panel.
4. The display module assembly according to claim 1, wherein a driving circuit is disposed on a region of the second region not bonded by the optical adhesive layer, and the driving circuit is located between the second region and the touch flexible circuit board.
5. The display module of claim 4, wherein the periphery of the driving circuit is adhered with an adhesive tape.
6. The display module according to claim 1, wherein the display module further comprises a flip-chip film, the flip-chip film is connected to the second region, a connection position of the flip-chip film and the second region is located in a region of the second region not bonded by the optical adhesive layer, and the flip-chip film is provided with a driving circuit.
7. The display module assembly of claim 1, wherein the display module assembly further comprises:
the back plate layer is arranged on the surface of one side, away from the optical adhesive layer, of the display panel and comprises a first back plate and a second back plate;
and the supporting layer is arranged between the first back plate and the second back plate and fixes the first back plate and the second back plate.
