From patent US4370989, a device is also known comprising a container and an applicator member with a tip, wherein said applicator member is fed with product from the container by means of pressure exerted on the walls of the applicator member.

With this device, the user applies a product-laden tip to one side of the eyelid, moves the tip to the other end, and draws a line in the same manner as a pen.

However, it is relatively difficult to draw regular lines, especially regular lines of constant thickness along the entire length of the line. This is because the user tends to press the tip with variable force when drawing the line, so the tip is squashed to a greater or lesser extent on the eyelid. As a result, the width of the tip surface in contact with the eyelid changes, and thus the width of the drawn line changes. In the case of fine-bristle brushes, it is also quite difficult to obtain regular fine lines.

Also, it is very difficult to draw the same line on both eyelids since the user will never press in the exact same way. Specifically, the user has to switch hands for each eyelid (resulting in using an unskilled hand), or use the same hand for both eyelids and perform two different actions.

Other types of applicators have been described that utilize specific hand movements to apply eyeliner compositions to the eyelids.

These devices are not capable of obtaining a wide variety of different cosmetic effects, do not fully adapt to the shape of the user's eye and/or are not capable of producing special effects, especially at the outer corners of the eyes, especially ending in point of upwards (flick).

There is a need for further improvements in make-up devices, especially for eyelids, especially those that benefit from devices that adapt to the morphology of the user's eyes while enabling a symmetrical make-up effect on both eyes (if desired). ), and enables easy completion of the resulting line. Also of interest are devices capable of producing a raised external lift effect at the outer corner of the eye.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention aims to meet all or some of these needs by proposing an applicator for applying cosmetic products to the skin, especially the eyelids, comprising an applicator member on its outer surface has a depression and a substantially flat major facet located between the depression and the distal end of the applicator member, at least along a major portion of the length of the major facet, the major facet The width of the face increases with the distance from the recess.

The recess is distinct from the opening in the applicator member for dispensing the product to be applied.

Preferably, the applicator member does not have any discontinuities in the recess. In the side view shown in FIG. 5 , the minor facet 41 forms an angle γ with the longitudinal axis X of the applicator member 10 . In the example shown, γ is equal to α. In a variant, the angle α and the angle γ may be different.

The angle (γ+α) is preferably between 5° and 25°.

As can be seen in FIG. 6 , the major facet 20 is connected to the minor facet 41 by an end facet 42 passing through the end edge 35c of the major facet and the end edge 41c of the minor facet 41 . The end facets 42 have a flat shape. The width h of the end facet 42 is substantially constant between the end edge 35c and the end edge 41c.

In this example, the recess 12 extends completely around the longitudinal axis X of the applicator member 10 and thus forms an annular groove extending in particular on the back surface 43 of the applicator member 10 .

In the variant shown in Figures 8 and 9, in side view, the back surface 43 of the applicator member has a change in concavity. The back surface has recesses 24 .

As shown in FIGS. 5-9 , the applicator member may include a mounting end piece 23 .

1.
