技术领域
本申请一般涉及数字内容的分发。更具体地,本申请涉及用于促进随机访问内容中心网络中的一项内容的方法和系统。
背景技术

概述
本发明的实施例提供一种内容访问系统,其通过对内容的顺序进行编码,解决了随机访问CCN中的大块内容的问题。在CCN中,大块内容,例如电影、视频、书籍或基因组序列可以表示为清单,清单是描述内容对象的集合和其相应摘要的内容对象。清单可以包括名称和签名,因此提供对由清单描述的内容对象的请求应用的信任。通过使用安全内容目录(例如清单)签名和验证内容对象的集合在美国专利申请14/231,515中描述。由清单描述的内容可以是数据对象或其它清单。清单包含基于由清单描述的对象集合的树状拓扑的固有顺序。为了检索清单的内容,系统可以遍历清单树,清单树包含以树状结构排序的子和父节点。例如,根清单可以描述表示电影的对象集合(数据对象或其它清单),根清单可以表示为树,如参照图5在下文描述的。希望从头播放电影的内容消费者基于后序(post-order)遍历(例如清单树的固有顺序)检索根清单和由根清单指示的内容对象。
如果内容消费者希望播放特定目标时间的电影,则系统提供直接访问特定时间的电影的方法。内容生产者可以通过包括到表示电影内容的外部索引的链接,将顺序编码到根清单中(例如,创建“顺序编码根清单”)。外部索引可以是与根清单不同的内容对象,并可以基于特定的测量单位,诸如分钟。多个外部索引链接可以包括于根清单中,因此给内容消费者提供访问排序内容的多种方法。例如,表示书籍的根清单可以包括到外部章节索引和外部页码索引的链接,而表示电影的根清单可以包括到外部时间索引和外部场景索引的链接。外部索引通常不包括到用于顺序编码的其它外部索引的链接。根清单还可以包括指向父对象的指针和每个清单、父和子表项的排序信息,因此维持继续遍历树状拓扑的能力(例如从特定目标时间或目标寻找位置播放或回放电影)。内容生产者还可以通过直接在根清单中包括索引信息,创建顺序编码根清单。因此,系统促进直接访问根清单的排序内容的目标寻找位置,而不需要完全遍历清单树。
在本申请描述的示例中,每项内容是分别被命名的,每项数据被绑定到将该数据与任何其它项数据(诸如相同数据的其它形式或来自其它源的数据)相区分的唯一名称。此唯一名称允许网络装置通过传播指示唯一名称的请求或兴趣来请求数据,可以获得与数据的存储位置、网络位置、应用和传输手段无关的数据。以下词语用来描述CCN架构:
内容对象(Content Object):单一一项命名数据,其绑定到唯一名称。内容对象是“永久的”,这意味着内容对象可以在计算装置内或者在不同的计算装置中移动,但不会改变。如果内容对象的任何组成变化,则出现变化的实体创建包括更新内容的新内容对象,并且将新内容对象绑定到新唯一名称。

兴趣(Interest):指示对一条数据的请求的包,包括该条数据的名称(或名称前缀)。数据消费者可以在信息中心网络中传播请求或兴趣,CCN路由器可以向可以提供所请求数据以满足请求或兴趣的存储装置(例如缓存服务器)或数据生产者播送。
本文中公开的方法不局限于CCN网络,也适用于其它架构。CCN架构的一个示例在美国专利申请号12/338,175中描述。
网络架构和顺序编码清单的概述
图1图解说明根据本发明的实施例促进直接寻找清单的排序内容的示例性计算环境100。计算环境100可以包括内容生产者104,内容生产者104可以包括可以发布或产生内容并满足通过网络102请求内容的任何内容生产装置。计算环境100还可以包括内容消费者108,内容消费者108可以包括可以确定通过网络102请求内容的任何内容消费装置。例如,客户端装置108可以包括智能手机108.1、平板电脑108.2和/或个人计算装置108.p(例如膝上型计算机)。计算环境100还可以包括网络102,网络102可以是例如内容中心网络(CCN)、命名数据网络(NDN)或信息中心网络(ICN)。内容生产者(例如内容生产者104)可以产生内容,并创建描述内容的根清单(例如根清单120)。内容生产者可以通过以下步骤对根清单描述的内容的顺序进行编码:包括到外部索引或与根清单的元数据关联的索引的链接(例如创建外部索引);或者扩展根清单的格式以包括排序标记(例如在根清单中直接包括索引信息)。
内容生产者可以基于两种方法创建外部索引:完整索引和相对索引。两种方法都依赖于在根清单中包括元数据。在第一种方法中,根清单包括指向内容的完整的排他性表的元数据部分(“外部完整索引”)。用于表示电影的根清单的外部完整索引可以指示与包含时间增量的最接近清单(“最接近的匹配清单”)的例如时间增量为分钟的阵列(对于电影的所有分钟数)。期望的目标时间可以通过定位外部完整索引中期望目标时间的最接近的匹配清单来找到,如在下文参照图6B描述的。在第二种方法中,每个相应清单(例如根清单和由根清单指示的集合中本身为清单的任何其它内容对象)包括指向外部索引的元数据部分,其提供相应清单中指示的内容对象子集的排序信息(“外部相对索引”)。内容对象的排序子集只涉及相应清单的直接子清单。为了基于外部相对索引直接寻找特定的目标位置,系统基于与每个相应清单关联的外部相对索引向下遍历清单树,如在下文参照图6C描述的。因此,通过在外部(完整或相对)索引中编码顺序,内容生产者创建顺序编码根清单。
在一些实施例中,不是创建外部索引,内容生产者通过在根清单内直接包括完整索引信息,创建顺序编码根清单。注意,在根清单中直接编码索引信息可以产生比使用外部索引低效率的结果。
例如,在图1中,内容生产者104可以创建描述一项内容的根清单120。根清单120可以包含清单名称122和内容对象名称130.1-130.n的列表。根清单120还可以包含与内容对象名称130.1-130.n关联的散列值132.1-132.n。在一些实施例中,每个散列值可以是唯一地标识内容对象的自认证内容对象的一部分。此外,根清单120可以包含生产者签名136。根清单120可以包含基于索引名称124指向外部索引的指针。例如,外部索引是与根清单120不同的内容对象,并具有相应的索引名称124。根清单120描述为包括到一个外部索引的一个链接的顺序编码根清单,如由索引名称124指示的。尽管在图1中只描绘了一个外部索引,但要记得如上文描述的,顺序编码根清单可以包括到多个外部索引的多个链接。

8.根据权利要求7所述的计算机系统,其中,生成的索引还包括根清单索引,所述根清单索引是与所述根清单不同的内容对象。
9.根据权利要求8所述的计算机系统,其中,所述根清单索引包括所述根清单中指示的内容对象集合的完整索引,并且其中,所述完整索引基于所述根清单中指示的内容对象集合的树状拓扑从第一对象开始。
10.根据权利要求8所述的计算机系统,其中,所述方法还包括:
对于由所述根清单指示的相应清单,创建相对索引,所述相对索引描述由所述相应清单指示的内容对象的子集的相对排序,其中,所述根清单索引是描述由所述根清单指示的内容对象的子集的相对排序的相对索引。
