Description
Technical field
This description relates to a kind of heat exchanger with air by-pass seal, and a kind of heat exchanger assemblies with this heat exchanger and the seal.
Background technology
Charger-air cooler heat exchanger is known in this technical field, is used for installing along the flow path of the pressurized air that is supplied to combustion engine. This pressurized air typically comprises surrounding air, and this surrounding air has been compressed the mass flow that increase is provided air such as the equipment of booster or turbocharger is to engine with the fuel of the amount that allows engine combustion and increase and therefore operate with power and the performance of increase level.
But the compression of surrounding air also improves air themperature and makes pressurized air have relatively high temperature, if this relatively high temperature does not reduce, undesirably increase total engine thermal load. Therefore, wish at supply pressurized air to charge air cooling before engine, and for this object, charger-air cooler is set.
Conventionally, charger-air cooler is by multiple light weight heat transfer element structures of thermally-conductive materials (such as copper or aluminium), this heat transfer element the be formed heat transfer surface that is used to provide expansion and the flow path that is defined for pressurized air, this pressurized air becomes heat transfer relation with suitable cooling agent (such as surrounding air or liquid coolant).More specifically, charger-air cooler can make pressurized air mobile on this fin associated with the cooling agent that flows through this pipe by the net structure of finned pipe, causes heat transmission fully for some engine system applications.Alternatively, when needs improve thermal heat transfer capability time, charger-air cooler is constructed by stacking a series of plates and fin, this plate and fin cooperate to limit core, heat exchanger, and the separative flow path of this core, heat exchanger tool is so that pressurized air and cooling agent pass through with close thermal transitive relation each other. But in arbitrary situation, charger-air cooler is desirably directly installed in the inlet manifold of engine, wherein pass the just in time temperature reduction by flowing through charger-air cooler before launched machine sucks of pressurized air of inlet manifold.
Current heat exchanger product can allow air by-pass, and through the end of fin, (this plate lap joint extends beyond the end of fin, or extend beyond liquid fluid manifold, leave unacceptable air by-pass passage), or needing parts in other brazing to compensate by stopping up these regions, this adds sizable cost and/or may be impossible for some chiller configuration. In order to address the above problem, the part that wide elastomeric seal (seal that connect or mechanical capture such as adhesive) can be provided as pipe guide is to minimize this bypass. But these sealing member materials are expensive, add assembly complexity, and there is durability restriction.Another compensation replacement scheme be by oversized dimensions or add much higher fin density (pressure drop loss) overdesign heat exchanger, also maintain performance even if make to have bypass flow, this may have other shortcoming.
In this technical field, need a kind of heat exchanger and a kind of heat exchanger assemblies, wherein this heat exchanger has seal, and the seal can reduce or prevent air bypass around the end of heat exchanger.
