But the present invention is not limited thereto, and the number of detents can also be increased to increase the structural strength of the pedal 150 . When the pedal 150 is in the disengaged position (shown in solid lines), the crossbar member 144 passes through the channel 1502a and the brake engaging member 148 is disengaged from the lobe 162 . When the pedal 150 moves downward (as shown by the arrow in FIG. 11 ) to stop at the engagement position (shown in dashed line), the through slot 1502 moves so that the cross bar 144 passes through the passage 1502b , and the drive shaft 146 thus rotates to drive the brake engaging member 148 through the studs 1482 to snap between the studs on the protruding teeth 162 to engage with the protruding teeth 162, thereby braking the Describe rear wheel 16.
