技术领域

背景技术
使用公网和私网两种形式的光纤电信系统来提供商用和家用的高带宽语音数据以及视频业务。随着私网和公网中使用的光缆数量的增加,在中央办公室和现场中,大量互连的管理变得日益复杂。例如,在电信网络的中央办公室中,根据网络的大小,可能存在成千上百个光纤连接。对于存储在许多装置机架和机柜中的电信装置的端口作出连接。
配线架模块是一种类型的电信装置,它具有用于连接到光缆的称之为“跨接线”的许多端口。配线架端口本身连接到由光缆承载的一根或多根光纤(“光缆光纤”),把光缆光纤分配到各个位置。这些位置可能包括光缆光纤连接的另一个电信装置组。
电信网络管理的任务包括保持跟踪否则记录各个部件和连接(诸如上述配线架连接)。任务还包括按时记录连接的变化以致在任何给定时刻都正确地知道网络状态和配置。网络管理任务的一个实际方面包括对各个端口、光缆和其它系统部件加标签,以致服务和维修人员知道是如何配置网络的,并且知道给定时刻的网络状态。
进行需要的加标签活动的传统方式包括使用手写的或打印的标记或标签。最近,使用网络管理计算机软件把连接数据库直接链接到标签打印机,以致还在数据库中记录打印在标签上的信息。然而,这仍需要技术员输入数据、打印出来,然后通过手工把标签附加到有关系统部件的每一个上。如果电信机柜可以包括成千上万个不同的端口,则这个过程是劳动密集型的,要执行的话,可能花费数个小时甚至数天。
发明内容
本发明的第一方面是一种有源标签系统,用于对电信系统的至少一个部件加标签。该系统包括至少一个电可寻址有源标签设备,该设备具有可操作地接到显示介质的显示器驱动器。在一个示例性实施例中,显示介质包括电泳显示器或胆甾液晶显示器。配置有源标签设备以在显示介质上形成当设备不通电时仍保持静止和可见的邮戳。在至少一个电信系统部件之一上设置显示介质。在有源标签设备上或附近设置射频识别(RFID)标记,射频识别(RFID)标记具有集成电路(IC)芯片和天线系统,IC芯片电连接到设备显示器驱动器。适配RFID读出器使之经由RF读出器信号与RFID标记进行通信,RF读出器信号包含与至少一个电信系统部件有关的信息(“部件信息”)。经由RFID标记把部件信息提供给显示器驱动器以在显示介质上形成表示部件信息的一个或多个邮戳。

具体实施方式
联系电信系统和构成系统的各种部件来描述本发明的有源系统和标签方法。这种电信系统包括各种类型网络装置形式的部件,包括数据中心应用中相关联的光和电链路。因此,旨在使这里使用的术语“部件”广义地解释为包括,例如,装置、设备、工具、装置、连接器、结构、元件、组分、端口、电缆、电缆部分、连接器、模块、零件、单元、机械、齿轮、插口、插座、插头、机架、框架、搁板、机柜、导线、导线电缆、光纤、光缆以及构成电信系统和在确定系统配置中起作用的、并且会从有源标签得益的、一般所有可想到的项目的整体。这里,“有源标签”和相似的项目是指自动地和选择地改变标签上可见信息(即,邮戳)的能力,而无需在现有标签上手工写入(例如,用笔或标记)或打印新标签和通过手工把它附加到部件上(例如,在现有的标签上)。
在一些示例性实施例中,不需要对系统的某些部件加有源标签。当执行有源标签时,要考虑部件是什么构成的取决于部件的特性和部件在系统中的作用。例如,在下面的讨论中,在某些情况中,可以认为电信系统机架是“部件”,因为它支撑装置机架以及值得识别为中央办公室中如此主要机架中的特定机架。如此的机架可以在不同时刻保持不同的部件,并且因此而需要相应地加标签。另一方面,例如,当壁橱中只存在一个机架并且机架具有固定用途时,最终用户可能认为机架与诸如跨接线电缆等其它部件相比不是相关的部件。

有源标签系统
图1是根据本发明的、与电信系统20的部件16集成在一起的、有源标签系统10的一个实施例的示意图。所示出的部件16的形式是受到机架16-R支撑的机架安装电子单元16-EU。图2是图1的示例性电子单元16-EU(例如,电子搁板)的特写图,包括连接端口16-P形式的许多部件(可以认为是子部件)。示出了连接到一些连接端口16-P的跨接线光缆形式(“跨接线”)的部件16。在一个示例性实施例中,电子单元16-EU是配线架搁板组件,而端口16-P是受到搁板组件支撑的配线架模块16-M的端口。
有源标签系统10包括至少一个有源标签设备40,在一个示例性实施例中,包括多个有源标签设备。示出附加到电子单元16-EU上的一个有源标签设备40,而示出附加到机架16-R上(见图1的插图)的另一个有源标签设备40。有源标签设备40是电可寻址的,并且包括可操作地连接到显示介质45的显示器驱动器42,诸如电可寻址的屏幕。有源标签设备40包括电路43,电路43可操作地连接到显示器驱动器42以及配置成提供显示介质45的电可寻址性以在一个或多个位置(较佳地与相应的一个或多个部件16的一个或多个位置对应)处形成一个或多个邮戳44(例如,字母、数字以及字母-数字字符、符号等)。
邮戳44作为传送关于部件16和/或其中或其上的任何子部件的信息的标签。如此的信息(这里称之为“部件信息”)包括,例如,构造、型号/串号、连接信息(诸如连接状态、连接目的、物理连接数据等)、维护信息(例如,至少维护、下一个计划的维护、已经进行的或要进行的任何维修的特性等)等。因此,形成和显示邮戳44以表示相关联的部件或部件16的部件信息。较佳地,尽可能接近特定部件而显示有关特定部件16的独立的邮戳44。
根据一个实施例的有源标签设备40不需要持续地甚或周期性地施加电功率来维护邮戳44。就是说,甚至当未对有源标签设备40通电时(即,不向显示介质提供电源时),邮戳44也在显示介质45上保持静止和可见。根据这个实施例,有源标签设备40是一种与手产生的或机器产生的静止标签相同或相似的有源标签设备,但是可以使用最小的功率来有效地和远程地改变该有源标签设备,这种最小的功率仅仅是在要求邮戳改变时才施加。

电泳显示器使用响应于电场的电子墨水微胶囊。使微胶囊悬浮在液体载体介质中。在塑料板上设置墨水(即,载体介质和胶囊),然后使塑料板层叠到包括电极的电路43的层上,从而形成显示介质45。配置电路以使微胶囊以有次序的方式移动以在显示介质45上形成像素图案,如显示器驱动器42确定的那样,从而形成邮戳44。
电泳显示器的一个重要的特性是当电路43不载有电流时微胶囊仍保持在合适的位置。因此,需要时间来改变邮戳44。否则,邮戳44保持静止和可见。从这个意义上说,电泳显示器与“电子纸”近似,以致通常把如此的显示器称为“电子纸显示器”。
可以通过使用塑料来代替玻璃基板以包含液晶而灵活地制造胆甾液晶显示器。在Schneider等人的文章“New developments in flexible cholesteric liquidcrystal displays”,(Liang-Chy Chien编辑的“Emerging Liquid CrystalTechnologies II”,SPIE的Proc.,第6487卷,6487OJ(2007))中描述了用作有源标签设备40的合适的胆甾液晶显示器的一个示例性实施例,这里结合该文作为参考。可以从俄亥俄州Kent镇的Kent Displays公司得到用作有源标签设备40中显示介质45的合适的胆甾液晶显示器。
本发明的有源标签系统10利用RFID技术来提供远程标签能力和促进加标签过程。因此,继续参考图1和图2,有源标签系统10包括安排在有源标签设备40上或附近的RFID标记60(也称之为“RFID应答器”)。图3A是适用于本发明和示出为连接到有源标签设备40的示例性RFID标记60的特写图。RFID标记60包括基板62,基板62支撑可操作地连接到天线系统68的集成电路(IC)芯片64。适配IC芯片64使之存储包括部件信息的信息(例如,在存储器单元65中),并且对RF信号进行调制和解调以便对信号进行编码或解码而获取部件信息。在一个示例性实施例中,IC芯片64包括或否则可操作地连接到能量存储单元67,能量存储单元67存储IC芯片使用的电能以及任选地由有源标签设备40使用的电能,如下所述。在基于RFID的系统中使用的典型频率是900MHz和2.4MHz。

RFID标记60的IC芯片64可操作地连接到有源标签设备40的显示器驱动器42,如在图3A中示意性地示出的那样。图3B示出RFID标记60和有源标签设备40的示例性实施例,其中有源标签设备中包括另一个“外部”IC芯片64,并且该另一个“外部”IC芯片64连接到显示器驱动器42。在一个示例性实施例中,外部IC芯片64是实际的RFID芯片64,即,只存在一个IC芯片64,并且该IC芯片驻留在基板62之外(因此,用术语“外部”),并且连接到RFID天线系统68。在图3A和图3B中示出电路43,电路43用于从显示器驱动器42传送电流以驱动显示介质45,并且形成邮戳44,如上所述。例如,可以使用外部IC芯片64来存储用于形成经由RFID标记60传送的邮戳44的部件信息。

再参考图1,有源标签系统10还包括RFID标记读出器(“RFID读出器”)100,RFID读出器100包括可操作地连接到天线系统106(“读出器天线”)的信号产生/处理电子线路102(“读出器电子线路”)。适配RFID读出器100使之产生射频(RF)读出器信号SR,设计射频(RF)读出器信号SR使之激励或否则询问RFID标记60,并且接收来自RFID标记的RF标记信号ST。在一个示例性实施例中,RF读出器信号SR还起到对RFID标记60供电的作用,并且可以把一些或所有的电能存储在IC芯片64中的能量存储单元67中,同时可以把一些或所有的电能传送到显示器驱动器42以驱动有源标签设备40。还可以把一些或所有的电能存储在有源标签设备40中的能量存储单元67中(见图3C、3D)。RF读出器信号SR还向IC芯片64提供信息,可以把该信息存储在存储器单元43中和/或传送到显示器驱动器42。
在一个示例性实施例中,RF读出器信号SR中的信息包括与有源标签设备40相关联的一个或多个部件16的上述部件信息,以致可以设置邮戳44以向至少一个选中的部件提供标签,较佳地向多个选中的部件提供标签。在一个示例性实施例中,RFID读出器100是用于促进有源标签处理的手持式设备。
继续参考图1,在一个示例性实施例中,有源标签系统10包括,例如,经由无线连接152(经由数据库单元中RFID读出器天线107和数据库无线卡153)或非无线连接154(诸如光纤或基于导线的连接)可操作地连接到RFID读出器100的数据库单元150。在一个示例性实施例中,直接把数据库单元150结合在RFID读出器100中。

在有源标签系统10的操作中,当RFID读出器100和RFID标记60两者处于相互的读出距离之内时,两者在RF通信路径200上经由标记和读出器信号ST和SR进行通信。根据许多因素来确定读出距离,这些因素包括来自RFID读出器和RFID标记的各种信号的相对强度以及它们相对的天线强度和所使用的信号频率。系统操作者(未示出)激励RFID读出器100而把RF读出器信号SR发送到与有源标签设备40(有源标签设备40依次与至少一个部件16相关联)相关联的RFID标记60。RF读出器信号SR包含上述用于形成邮戳44的部件信息。在一个示例性实施例中,在数据库单元150的存储器单元156中始发RFID读出器100提供的RF读出器信号SR中的的信息,并且经由无线或非无线连接152或154传送到RFID读出器。

Claims (15)

1.一种有源标签系统,用于对电信系统的至少一个部件加标签,所述有源标签系统包括:
至少一个电可寻址的有源标签设备,所述有源标签设备具有可操作地连接到显示介质的显示器驱动器,配置所述有源标签设备以在所述显示介质上形成邮戳,当所述有源标签设备不通电时所述邮戳仍是静止和可见的,并且其中,所述显示介质被设置在至少一个电信系统部件之一上;
射频识别(RFID)标记,所述射频识别(RFID)标记具有集成电路(IC)芯片和天线系统,并且被设置在所述有源标签设备上或附近,其中IC芯片电连接到设备显示器驱动器;以及
RFID读出器,适配成向RFID标记发送RF读出器信号,所述RF读出器信号包含与至少一个电信系统部件有关的部件信息,
其中,经由RFID标记把所述部件信息提供给显示器驱动器,以在所述显示介质上形成用于表示部件信息的一个或多个邮戳。
2.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,配置RFID标记以从RF读出器信号接收电能,并且把电能提供给所述有源标签设备。
3.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,所述至少一个电信系统部件包括光缆,并且把所述显示介质附加到光缆上。
4.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,所述RFID标记IC芯片包括适配成存储来自RF读出器信号的电能的第一能量存储单元。
5.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,所述显示器驱动器可操作地连接到下列之中的至少一项并且由下列之中的至少一项供电:
在RFID标记中的第一能量存储单元;
在所述有源标签设备中的第二能量存储单元;以及
在所述有源标签设备外部的电源。
6.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于:
所述至少一个部件包括配线架搁板组件,所述配线架搁板组件支撑着由搁板组件所支撑的多个配线架模块;
所述配线架模块包括多个端口;以及
把所述显示介质安排在搁板组件上,并且所述显示介质显示用于表示与多个端口有关的部件信息的邮戳。
7.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,所述至少一个电信系统部件包括用于支撑多个其它电信装置部件的装置机架,并且其中,把显示介质设置在装置机架上。
8.如权利要求1所述的有源标签系统,其特征在于,还包括可操作地连接到RF读出器并适配成存储所述部件信息的数据库单元。
9.一种用于对电信系统的至少一个电信部件加标签的方法,所述方法包括:
提供至少一个电可寻址的有源标签设备,所述有源标签设备具有可操作地连接到显示介质的显示器驱动器,配置所述有源标签设备以在所述显示介质上形成邮戳,当所述有源标签设备未通电时所述邮戳仍是静止和可见的;
将所述显示介质设置在至少一个电信系统部件之一上;
把RFID标记可操作地耦合到所述有源标签设备;
把RF信号提供给RFID标记,所述RF信号包含与至少一个电信系统部件有关的部件信息;
在RFID标记处接收RF信号,并且把所述部件信息传送给所述有源标签设备;以及
在所述显示介质上形成用于表示所述部件信息的邮戳。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述显示介质包括电泳显示器或胆甾液晶显示器。
11.如权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于,所述至少一个电信系统部件包括含多个端口的电子单元,并且包括把所述显示介质附加到所述电子单元上,并且其中,所述部件信息包括与所述电子单元和多个端口有关的信息。
12.一种基于射频识别(RFID)的有源标签系统,用于对电信系统的至少一个电信部件加标签,所述有源标签系统包括:
至少一个显示设备,所述至少一个显示设备具有被安排在至少一个电信部件的至少一个上的基于电泳的或基于胆甾的显示介质,配置所述显示介质以显示一个或多个邮戳,当不向所述显示设备供电时所述邮戳仍然是静止和可见的;
RF读出器,被适配成发送RF读出器信号,所述RF读出器信号包含关于至少一个电信部件的部件信息;
RFID标记,可操作地连接到所述显示设备,并且被配置成接收RF读出器信号和其中的部件信息,并把所述部件信息提供给所述显示设备;以及
其中所述显示设备根据所述部件信息在所述显示介质上形成并显示一个或多个邮戳。
13.如权利要求12所述的系统,其特征在于,所述RFID标记包括IC芯片,所述至少一个显示设备包括可操作地连接到所述显示介质的显示器驱动器,并且其中,RFID IC芯片被电连接到显示器驱动器,并且被适配成存储用于形成一个或多个邮戳的部件信息并把所述部件信息提供给显示器驱动器。
14.如权利要求13所述的系统,其特征在于,配置所述IC芯片以从RF读出器信号中提取电能,并且把所提取的电能中的至少一些传送到显示器驱动器。
15.如权利要求12所述的系统,其特征在于,RFID标记和有源标签设备两者分别包括可操作地连接到显示器驱动器的第一和第二能量存储单元,并且其中配置所述系统从而把电能从第一和第二能量存储单元中的至少一个提供给显示器驱动器。
