Abstract
本发明提供在像素内具有光传感器的带有图像获取功能的显示装置、特别是能够一边抑制消耗电力一边获取图像的显示装置。本发明的显示装置包括:设置在有源矩阵基板的像素区域的光传感器和传感器配线;逐行地选择上述光传感器的传感器行驱动器;从所选择的行的光传感器读出信号电荷的传感器像素读出电路;包括与上述光传感器的各列对应的数量的放大器,并生成传感器输出电压的传感器列放大器;逐列地选择由上述传感器像素读出电路读出的信号电荷并将其向上述传感器列放大器输出的传感器列扫描电路;和设置在上述传感器列放大器(42)的后段的缓冲放大器(6),在上述传感器列放大器(42)或上述缓冲放大器(6)中包括根据待机信号抑制向该放大器的后段的输出的待机切换电路。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及在像素内具有光传感器的带有图像获取功能的显示装置,特别涉及能够一边抑制消耗电力一边获取图像的显示装置。
背景技术
以往,提出有通过在像素内设置例如光电二极管等光传感器而能够获取接近显示器的物体的图像的带有图像获取功能的显示装置。这样的带有图像获取功能的显示装置被设想作为双向通信用显示装置、带有触摸面板功能的显示装置加以利用。
在以往的带有图像获取功能的显示装置中,在通过半导体工艺在有源矩阵基板上形成信号线和扫描线、TFT(Thin Film Transistor:薄膜晶体管)、像素电极等公知的结构要素时,同时在像素内装入光电二极管(例如,参照特开2006-3857号公报和“A Touch Panel FunctionIntegrated LCD Including LTPS A/D Converter”,T.Nakamura等,SID 05DIGEST,pp1054-1055,2005)。
在上述以往的带有图像获取功能的显示装置中,为了从设置在像素内的光传感器读出信号电荷,在用于驱动显示用像素的信号线和扫描线以外,设置有根据光传感器的配置而形成为矩阵状的光传感器用配线和用于向该配线供给驱动信号的光传感器用驱动电路。此外,需要用于将从光传感器读出的信号依次向信号处理电路输出的缓冲电路。
在上述以往的带有图像获取功能的显示装置中,由光传感器用驱动电路和缓冲电路处理从所有的光传感器输出的信号电荷,因此,存在光传感器用驱动电路和缓冲电路的消耗电力大的问题。
发明内容
因此,鉴于上述课题,本发明的目的在于提供在像素内具有光传感器的带有图像获取功能的显示装置、特别是能够一边抑制消耗电力一边获取图像的显示装置。
为了解决上述课题,本发明提供一种显示装置,其包括有源矩阵基板,其特征在于,包括:设置在上述有源矩阵基板的像素区域的光传感器;根据上述光传感器的配置而呈矩阵状设置的传感器配线;与上述传感器配线连接,逐行地选择上述光传感器的传感器行驱动器;从由上述传感器行驱动器选择的行的光传感器读出信号电荷的传感器像素读出电路;包括与上述光传感器的各列对应的数量的放大器,并生成与上述信号电荷相应的传感器输出电压的传感器列放大器;逐列地选择由上述传感器像素读出电路读出的信号电荷并将该信号电荷向上述传感器列放大器输出的传感器列扫描电路;和设置在上述传感器列放大器的后段的缓冲放大器,在上述传感器列放大器或者上述缓冲放大器中包括待机切换电路,该待机切换电路根据待机信号抑制向该放大器的后段的输出。
根据上述结构,在待机模式的情况下,根据待机信号,抑制在上述传感器列放大器或者上述缓冲放大器中对该放大器后段的输出,由此,能够抑制这些放大器的消耗电力。
上述显示装置例如可以是上述传感器列放大器包括偏压晶体管、上述待机切换电路对向上述偏压晶体管的栅极的供给电压进行切换的结构,也可以是上述缓冲放大器包括偏压晶体管、上述待机切换电路对向上述偏压晶体管的栅极的供给电压进行切换的结构。
上述传感器列扫描电路可以是对上述光传感器的列进行隔列扫描,也可以是对上述光传感器的列进行多相驱动的结构。
此外,本发明的显示装置能够构成为还包括:与上述有源矩阵基板相对的对置基板;和夹持在上述有源矩阵基板与对置基板之间的液晶。
如以上所述,根据本发明,能够提供在像素内具有光传感器的带有图像获取功能的显示装置、特别是能够一边抑制消耗电力一边获取图像的显示装置。

具体实施方式
以下,参照附图对本发明的实施方式进行说明。此外,本实施方式表示的是将本发明的显示装置作为液晶显示装置实施时的结构例,但是本发明的显示装置并不限定于液晶显示装置,能够应用于使用有源矩阵基板的任意显示装置。此外,本发明的显示装置具有图像获取功能,由此,可设想作为带有检测接近画面的物体并进行输入操作的触摸面板的显示装置、具备显示功能和摄像功能的双向通信用显示装置等的利用。
此外,以下参照的各图,为了说明的方便,仅简略表示本发明的实施方式的结构部件中用于说明本发明所需要的主要部件。因此,本发明的显示装置能够包括在本说明书所参照的各图中没有示出的任意结构部件。此外,各图中的部件的尺寸并不忠实地表示实际的结构部件的尺寸和各部件的尺寸比率等。
[第一实施方式]
图1是表示本发明的一个实施方式的液晶显示装置所具备的有源矩阵基板100的概略结构的框图。如图1所示,有源矩阵基板100在玻璃基板上至少包括像素区域1、显示器栅极驱动器2、显示器源极驱动器3、传感器列(column)驱动器4、传感器行(row)驱动器5、缓冲放大器6和FPC连接器7。此外,通过FPC连接器7和FPC(图示省略)连接有用于对由像素区域1内的光传感器(后述)获取的图像信号进行处理的信号处理电路8。
此外,有源矩阵基板100上的上述结构部件也能够通过半导体工艺整体式(monolithic)地形成在玻璃基板上。或者,也可以通过例如COG(Chip On Glass:玻璃上芯片)技术等将上述结构部件中的驱动器类安装在玻璃基板上。有源矩阵基板100与在整个面上形成有对置电极的对置基板(未图示)贴合,在其间隙中封入有液晶材料。
像素区域1是为了显示图像而形成有多个像素的区域。在本实施方式中,在像素区域1的各像素内,设置有用于获取图像的光传感器。图2是表示有源矩阵基板100的像素区域1的像素与光传感器的配置的等效电路图。在图2的例子中,1个像素由R(红)、G(绿)、B(蓝)这3色的图像元素形成,在由这3个图像元素构成的1个像素内设置有1个光传感器。像素区域1具有呈M行×N列的矩阵状配置的像素和同样呈M行×N列的矩阵状配置的光传感器。此外,如上所述,图像元素的数量为M×3N。
因此,如图2所示,像素区域1具有呈矩阵状配置的栅极线GL和源极线COL作为像素用配线。栅极线GL与显示器栅极驱动器2连接。源极线COL与显示器源极驱动器3连接。此外,栅极线GL在像素区域1内设置有M行。以下,在需要区别各个栅极线GL进行说明的情况下,表述为GLi(i=1~M)。另一方面,源极线COL,如上所述,为了对1个像素内的3个图像元素分别供给图像数据,对每1个像素各设置有3根。在需要区别各个源极线COL进行说明的情况下,表述为COLrj、COLgj、COLbj(j=1~N)。
在栅极线GL与源极线COL的交点设置有薄膜晶体管(TFT)M1作为像素用开关元件。此外,在图2中,将在红色、绿色、蓝色各自的图像元素中设置的薄膜晶体管M1表述为M1r、M1g、M1b。薄膜晶体管M1的栅极电极连接到栅极线GL,源极电极连接到源极线COL,漏极电极连接到未图示的像素电极。由此,如图2所示,在薄膜晶体管M1的漏极电极与对置电极(VCOM)之间形成液晶电容LC,此外,与液晶电容LC并联形成有辅助电容LS。
在图2中,由连接在1根栅极线GLi与1根源极线COLrj的交点的薄膜晶体管M1r驱动的图像元素,与该图像元素对应而设置有红色的彩色滤光片,通过源极线COLrj从显示器源极驱动器3被供给红色的图像数据,由此作为红色的图像元素起作用。此外,由连接在栅极线GLi与源极线COLgj的交点的薄膜晶体管M1g驱动的图像元素,与该图像元素对应而设置有绿色的彩色滤光片,通过源极线COLgj从显示器源极驱动器3被供给绿色的图像数据,由此作为绿色的图像元素起作用。另外,由连接在栅极线GLi与源极线COLbj的交点的薄膜晶体管M1b驱动的图像元素,与该图像元素对应而设置有蓝色的彩色滤光片,通过源极线COLbj从显示器源极驱动器3被供给蓝色的图像数据,由此作为蓝色的图像元素起作用。
此外,在图2的例子中,光传感器在像素区域1中以1个像素(3个图像元素)1个的比例设置。但是,像素与光传感器的配置比例并不仅限定于该例子,是任意的。例如,可以对每1个图像元素配置1个光传感器,也可以对多个像素配置1个光传感器。
如图2所示,光传感器由光电二极管D1、电容器C1、晶体管M2~M4构成。在图2的例子中,与源极线COL平行地形成有用于从传感器列驱动器4向光传感器供给恒定电压VSS、VDD的配线VSS、VDD。此外,同样与源极线COL平行地形成有用于输出光传感器输出VSOUT的配线OUT。配线OUT与传感器列驱动器4的传感器像素读出电路41连接。对每1列设置有这些配线VSS、VSD、OUT,因此,以后在需要区别各配线的情况下,表述为VSSj、VSDj、OUTj(j=1~N)。
此外,用于供给复位信号的配线RST与光传感器的晶体管M4连接。用于供给读出信号的配线RWS与晶体管M3连接。配线RST、RWS与传感器行驱动器5连接。对每1行设置有这些配线RST、RWS,因此,以后在需要区别各配线的情况下,表述为RSTi、RWSi(i=1~M)。
如图1所示,传感器列驱动器4包括传感器像素读出电路41、传感器列放大器42和传感器列扫描电路43。从像素区域1输出光传感器输出VSOUT的配线SOUT与传感器像素读出电路41连接。在图1中,将通过配线SOUTj(j=1~N)输出的光传感器输出表述为VSOUTj。传感器像素读出电路41将光传感器输出VSOUTj的峰值保持电压VSj向传感器列放大器42输出。传感器列放大器42内置有与像素区域1的N列光传感器分别对应的N个列放大器,用各个列放大器将峰值保持电压VSj(j=1~N)放大,作为VCOUT向缓冲放大器6输出。传感器列扫描电路43,为了将传感器列放大器42的列放大器依次连接到向缓冲放大器6的输出,将列选择信号CSj(j=1~N)向传感器列放大器42输出。
在此,参照图3对传感器行驱动器5的内部结构的一个例子进行说明。图3所示的结构的传感器行驱动器5包括由移位寄存器构成的传感器行扫描电路52和传感器行电平移位器51。传感器行扫描电路52按照规定的时间间隔trow依次选择图2所示的配线RSTi、RWSi。由此,在像素区域1中依次选择要读出信号电荷的光传感器的行(row)。
在此,参照图4~图7对来自像素区域1的光传感器输出的读出进行说明。如图4和图5所示,光传感器的电压从复位信号RST被施加到晶体管M4时的初始电压VINT开始,根据光电二极管D1的受光量而缓慢下降,当读出信号RWS变为ON时,读出光传感器输出VSOUT。此外,图4所示的晶体管M5设置在各列的最后。
如图6所示,当读出信号RWS变为ON(高电平)时,晶体管M3导通,由此,由晶体管M2、M5形成源极跟随放大器,光传感器输出VSOUT积累在采样电容器CSAM中。即使在读出信号RWS变为OFF(低电平)之后,在该行的选择期间(trow)中,来自传感器像素读出电路41的输出电压VS也如图7所示,保持为与光传感器输出VSOUT的峰值相等的电平。
接着,参照图8和图9对传感器列放大器42的动作进行说明。在传感器列放大器42中,如图8所示,从传感器像素读出电路41向N个列放大器输入各列的输出电压VSj(j=1~N)。如图8所示,被输入输出电压VSj的1个列放大器由晶体管M6、M7构成。由传感器列扫描电路43生成的列选择信号CSj,如图9所示,在1行的选择期间(trow)中,对于N列的各列依次变为ON,由此,传感器列放大器42中的N个列放大器中的仅任一个列放大器的晶体管M6变为ON,通过该晶体管M6,各列的输出电压VSj(j=1~N)中的仅任一个,作为来自传感器列放大器42的输出VCOUT向缓冲放大器6输出。
但是,如图8所示,在传感器列放大器42中,在晶体管M6与向缓冲放大器的输出端之间连接有列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8。列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8,整个列共用地设置在缓冲放大器6的附近。晶体管M6、M7、M8构成源极跟随放大器。此外,在传感器列放大器42内设置有待机切换电路,该待机切换电路根据待机信号STB切换向列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8的供给电压。该待机切换电路被构成为:通过根据待机信号STB的开关切换,在待机信号STB为高电平(待机ON)的情况下向列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8的栅极施加恒定电压VDDA,在待机信号STB为低电平(待机OFF)的情况下向列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8的栅极施加偏压VB1。
在待机模式的情况下,待机信号STB被设置为高电平,由此,开关S1关闭,开关S2打开。此时,列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8的栅极被施加恒定电压VDDA,因此,列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8变为断开。当列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8变为断开时,传感器列放大器42中不流通电流,因此不产生电力消耗。另一方面,在非待机模式下,待机信号STB被设置为低电平,由此,开关S1打开,开关S2关闭。此时,向列源极跟随偏压晶体管M8的栅极施加参照偏压VB1。由此,传感器列放大器42以非待机模式动作,向缓冲放大器6输出VCOUT。缓冲放大器6将从传感器列放大器42输出的VCOUT进一步放大,作为VOUT向信号处理电路8输出。如以上所述,通过将待机信号STB设置为高电平,能够减少传感器列放大器42的消耗电力。
在信号处理电路8中,取得作为VOUT输出的光传感器图像,进行待机信号STB的切换控制。即,在像素区域1中,存在M×N个光传感器,因此,从这些光传感器,可从VOUT得到M×N个传感器像素值。信号处理电路8对M×N个VOUT分别进行AD转换,并将得到的传感器像素值与规定的阈值比较,在超过阈值的传感器像素值的数目不超过规定数目的情况下,判断为在显示装置的画面附近没有物体,为了减少消耗电力,将待机信号STB维持为高电平(待机ON)。另一方面,在超过阈值的传感器像素值的数目超过规定数目的情况下,判断为有物体接近显示装置的画面,为了以更高分辨率取得物体图像,信号处理电路8将待机信号STB切换为低电平(待机OFF)。此外,待机信号STB的切换并不限于该例子,也能够构成为以除此以外的各种基准进行切换。
[第二实施方式]
作为上述的第一实施方式,例示的是在传感器列放大器42内设置有待机切换电路的结构。与此相对,第二实施方式的显示装置,如图10所示,具备传感器列放大器42a代替传感器列放大器42,并且具备具有待机切换电路的缓冲放大器6a代替缓冲放大器6。此外,如图11所示,传感器列放大器42a在不具有待机切换电路这一点上,与第一实施方式的传感器列放大器42不同。
如图10所示,在缓冲放大器6中设置有待机切换电路,该待机切换电路进行开关,使得:在待机信号STB为高电平(待机ON)时向偏压晶体管M11、M9供给恒定电压VSSA,在待机信号STB为低电平(待机OFF)时向偏压晶体管M11、M9供给参照偏压VB2。
在待机模式的情况下,待机信号STB被设置为高电平,由此,开关S3关闭,开关S4打开。此时,向偏压晶体管M11、M9的栅极施加恒定电压VSSA,偏压晶体管M11、M9变为关闭。当偏压晶体管M11、M9变为关闭时,缓冲放大器6a中没有电流流动,因此不产生电力消耗。另一方面,在非待机模式下,待机信号STB被设置为低电平,由此,开关S3打开,开关S4关闭。此时,向偏压晶体管M11、M9的栅极施加参照偏压VB2。由此,缓冲放大器6a以非待机模式动作,向信号处理电路8输出VOUT。如以上所述,通过将待机信号STB设置为高电平,能够减少缓冲放大器6a的消耗电力。
此外,在上述的第一或者第二实施方式中,传感器列扫描电路43可以逐列地扫描光传感器的列,也可以对光传感器的列进行隔列扫描。此外,传感器列扫描电路43也可以形成为例如4相等的多相驱动扫描电路。
产业上的可利用性
本发明能够作为在像素内具有光传感器的带有图像获取功能的显示装置、特别是能够一边抑制消耗电力一边获取图像的显示装置在产业上加以利用。
Claims (9)
1.一种显示装置,其包括有源矩阵基板,其特征在于,包括:
设置在所述有源矩阵基板的像素区域的光传感器;
根据所述光传感器的配置而呈矩阵状设置的传感器配线;
与所述传感器配线连接,逐行地选择所述光传感器的传感器行驱动器;
从由所述传感器行驱动器选择的行的光传感器读出信号电荷的传感器像素读出电路;
包括与所述光传感器的各列对应的数量的放大器,并生成与所述信号电荷相应的传感器输出电压的传感器列放大器;
逐列地选择由所述传感器像素读出电路读出的信号电荷并将该信号电荷向所述传感器列放大器输出的传感器列扫描电路;和
设置在所述传感器列放大器的后段的缓冲放大器,
在所述传感器列放大器或者所述缓冲放大器中包括待机切换电路,该待机切换电路在待机模式的情况下抑制向该放大器的后段的输出。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其特征在于:
所述传感器列放大器包括偏压晶体管,
所述待机切换电路对向所述偏压晶体管的栅极的供给电压进行切换。
3.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其特征在于:
所述缓冲放大器包括偏压晶体管,
所述待机切换电路对向所述偏压晶体管的栅极的供给电压进行切换。
4.根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的显示装置,其特征在于:
所述传感器列扫描电路对所述光传感器的列进行隔列扫描。
5.根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的显示装置,其特征在于:
所述传感器列扫描电路对所述光传感器的列进行多相驱动。
6.根据权利要求4所述的显示装置,其特征在于:
所述传感器列扫描电路对所述光传感器的列进行多相驱动。
7.根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的显示装置,其特征在于,还包括:
与所述有源矩阵基板相对的对置基板;和
夹持在所述有源矩阵基板与对置基板之间的液晶。
8.根据权利要求4所述的显示装置,其特征在于,还包括:
与所述有源矩阵基板相对的对置基板;和
夹持在所述有源矩阵基板与对置基板之间的液晶。
9.根据权利要求5所述的显示装置,其特征在于,还包括:
与所述有源矩阵基板相对的对置基板;和
夹持在所述有源矩阵基板与对置基板之间的液晶。
