Der erfindungsgemässe Duftstab kann aber wie ein herkömmlicher Duftstab verwendet werden und insbesondere mit seinem Endbereich in einem Gefäss angeordnet werden, aus welchem er herausragt. Es können auf diese Weise auch mehrere Duftstäbe angeordnet werden, wobei diese auch verschiedene Duftstoffe enthalten können, so dass eine Kombination von verschiedenen Düften nach Vorliebe des Verwenders geschaffen werden kann. Dies war mit herkömmlichen Duftstäben, die ihr Parfüm aus einer gemeinsamen Flüssigkeit entnommen haben, nicht möglich.
