It is known that the increasingly widespread use of reinforced concrete poles has led, for some time, to building these products also of very significant dimensions, particularly with regard to the length, which is often required to reach and sometimes exceed 40 m.

It is also known that the transport and use of such long poles has given rise to considerable difficulties, in part deriving from the simple size of the poles themselves, in part and, more seriously, from the stresses produced by the conditions of transport and use. . The attempt to overcome these difficulties with a reinforcement of the internal reinforcements, aimed at making them better responsive to transport and use stresses, has only partially eliminated the difficulties mentioned above and has increased the cost of the poles, for which it has already been preferred time to move towards the construction of reinforced concrete poles of considerable length in segments or pole trunks to be joined together at the head as they are installed or sunk (fixtures in the ground or underwater). Such a solution obviously requires the provision of suitable connection systems, for which the technique has already provided numerous types of joints which have been widely used with good results.

The ever increasing requirements of the construction technique to combine the efficiency and safety already obtained with the known solutions, a faster execution and a higher cost economy than those obtainable with these solutions have however made known joints less responsive to current needs. and they recommended to study an improved type of joint that best suited to the most modern construction practice.

This joint, object of the present invention, is of the type comprising a pair of ferrules equipped with axial armatures associated with the heads of the reinforced concrete pile trunks to be connected by drowning in the casting of the trunks themselves and is characterized in that by said ferrules a it has axial pocket-shaped seats, while the other has axially bayonet-protruding blades suitable for insertion in said seats for connection and from this, which includes conical pins to be forced forced into holes, placed in correspondence with the connection, through said blades and the walls of said seats of the two ferrules.

The ring nuts of the joint preferably consist of a 5 ring-shaped metal band inside which are applied by welding said pocket seats or said protruding bayonet blades and rod elements or the like which constitute the axial reinforcements to be drowned in the casting of the pole trunks (the which generally come into contact with their concrete parts). Also preferably said conical pins are covered by a metal jacket cut along a direction to facilitate the application of the pins and improve the security of the connection.

The invention is now described in greater detail below, purely by way of example, with reference to the attached drawings which illustrate a practical embodiment and in which:

fig. Fig. 1 shows the two ring nuts of the joint drawn counter-20 placed in a perspective view; and fig. 2 is a perspective view of two pole trunks equipped with the ring nuts of the joint according to the invention in fig. 1 ready to be butted to form a pole.

The joint according to the invention illustrated by the drawings is 25 formed by a pair of ring-shaped metal ring nuts 1 and 2 on whose inside axial pocket seats 3 and axial bayonet protruding blades 4 are applied respectively, uniformly spaced apart. Still inside the ring nuts 1 and 2, elements of rods 30 or 5 arranged axially and possibly bent (in 5 ') are welded.

In the illustrated embodiment of the joint according to the invention, four pocket seats 3 and four corresponding bayonet blades 4 are provided, uniformly spaced apart. It is clear, however, that only 35 three of these elements could be provided for small diameter pile logs or more than four for large diameter pile logs.

Seats 3 of the ring nut 1 and protruding blades 4 of the ring nut 2 are arranged and formed so as to correspond, with the blades 4 capable of being inserted in an easy and practical way, but with a certain precision, in the seats 3 when the ring nuts 1 and 2 they are opposed and brought closer. Holes 6 pass through the opposite walls of the seats 3 and holes 7 the blades 4, said holes being intended to be arranged in mutual correspondence when the blades 4 are inserted in the seats 3. 45 They complete the joint with tapered pins 8 (fig. 2) equipped with a metal jacket 9 cut into 10 along a line, intended to be inserted in holes 6 and 7 of seats 3 and blades 4.

As shown in fig. 2, the ferrules 1 and 2 are applied to the head of two logs or pole segments 11 and 12 in reinforced concrete to be connected, to which they are made integral to be filled by the casting of the logs themselves and to have the axial elements of rod 5 drowned in the same jet.

It is evident that when the 55 trunks 11 and 12 must be connected at the head - the perfect execution of which will be perpendicular to the axis of the concrete end surfaces 13 and 14 - the trunks will rest one after the other arranging them in alignment, inserting the bayonet protruding blades 4 of the ring nut 2 of the trunk 12 60 into the pocket seats 3 of the ring nut 1 of the trunk 11. The pins 8 fitted with their jacket 9 will then be applied by inserting one into each of the holes 6 of the seats 3 visible on the outside of the ring nut 1, so that they also penetrate the holes 7 of the blades 4 placed in correspondence with the 65 holes 6 and engage the latter also within the internal wall of the seats 3. The pins 8 must be forced by means of blows of a bunch, so as to establish a rigid and stable connection between ring nuts 1 and 2 and therefore between the trunks Ile

12 of the reinforced concrete pole to be built. The presence of the shirts 9 cut along the line 10 ensures a very suitable elasticity of the engagement between pins and ring nuts and, together with the taper of the pins themselves, guarantees the stability of the connection.

Le superfici terminali dei tronchi 11 e 12 The connection between two sections equipped with the ring nuts of the joint according to the invention takes place with. great practicality and effectiveness, in a very short time and can be entrusted to personnel of limited specialization, thus realizing those economies that were desired, while it is also completely safe and effective. The end surfaces of logs 11 and 12

Si può inoltre prevedere la introduzione fra le superfici di testa dei tronchi da collegare di cuscinetti veri e propri di materiale adatto. they can be finished in concrete, without particular additions, or they can be treated with synthetic resins. These can also be applied at the head coupling of the poles as a connection bearing. It is also possible to provide for the insertion of proper bearings of suitable material between the head surfaces of the logs to be connected.

The joint according to the invention lends itself particularly well to be applied to trunks of centrifuged reinforced concrete poles of circular section, with the pins arranged so as to act radially.
