Abstract

The electrical circuit activates brake solenoids (C1, C2) on the trailer, upon accidental detaching of the trailer from the towing vehicle. The solenoids are actuated by an auxiliary battery (TB) carried by the trailer. This circuit comprises a current threshold indicator (35) connected to the terminals of the solenoids and/or of the battery and making it possible to check whether it possesses sufficient charge to keep an adequate voltage at the terminals of the solenoids, even when it is supplying a current sufficient for braking. The circuit may include a current detector (45) preventing the formation of a safety control signal when the excitation circuit of the solenoids is interrupted, or when one or more solenoids are cut off from the circuit. <IMAGE>
