Abstract

The panels are particularly made of expanded polystyrene and are capable of being assembled together in order to form a plane surface intended to act as an insulating component between two other surfaces such as a cement slab and an external covering. The panels can be used in the building industry. The panel (1) has, on one of its faces, recesses (15) which, at least over part of their length, have a depth greater than their width. The panel is provided on its four sides (3, 5, 7, 9) with a fastening system enabling it to be connected to four neighbouring boards. This system is made up of mouldings, the shape of which is inverted and complementary for the pairs of parallel sides (3, 5; 7, 9). <IMAGE>
