Abstract

Screen-effect smoke-generating device comprising a part (11) capable of producing smoke with long-lasting effect slowly and a part (10) capable of producing smoke rapidly. Both parts contain smoke-generating material of substantially the same composition, the second part (10) has a larger surface area exposed to combustion than that of the first part (11), so that a greater quantity of smoke-generating material is burnt in this second part in an equal length of time. This smoke-generating device allows a screen effect which is both rapid and long-lasting. It is intended in particular for military use when it is desirable rapidly to obtain smoke whose action is prolonged. <IMAGE>
